iâm already crying but you know what makes me cry more? the fact that jace and alec have only just reunited and yet theyâve been torn apart again. imagine them feeling their parabatai bond grow stronger whilst hugging each other, them breathing a sigh of relief and crying because theyâre finally back, they finally know one another is safe and okay. yet that feeling being ripped away from them. alec waking up in his brotherâs arms after days of worrying about him only to watch on, confused and disorientated, while his brother gets arrested by the clave. that feeling of losing him all over again and not being able to stop it. jace finally getting to see his brother, him family, after days of torture and wanting nothing more than to return home and be by his siblingsâ side, only to be arrested and having to look alec in the eye and tell him âitâs okayâ even though his whole world is being taken away from him again.

I came with you to escape my relationship drama, not get a front row seat to yours.
Fight locations, ranked
IHOP parking lot: ridiculous. buffoonish. 3/10 Dennyâs parking lot: has a certain dionysian flair. 6/10 Dunkin Donuts parking lot: lots of regional flavor. 7/10 The woods: nice and secluded, plenty of opportunities to use the terrain to your advantage. Just make sure to bring bug spray. 8/10 Any roof: dangerous, but points for style. 5/10 The top of any mountain: much like the woods, but with far more dramatic flair. Almost byronic. Loses points for being less practical than the other locations on this list, however. 7/10 A graveyard: disrespectful to the skeletons. 0/10 An abandoned warehouse: something of a cliche. 4/10 Any liminal space: This category includes town lines, entryways, borders, and crossroads. Is this a deeply symbolic, metaphorically charged fight? If it wasnât before, it is now. 9/10 Wal-Mart parking lot: Quick question, are you shitting me right now? This is the absolute worst fight location. If you have any respect at all for the noble art of throwing the fuck down, donât get in a fight in a wal-mart parking lot. In fact, this also applies to wal-mart checkout lines, roofs, employee break rooms, corporate headquarters, and indeed any space at all associated with the walton family or the wal-mart corporation. Fuck wal-mart.  0/10 The parking lot of an abandoned Blockbuster Video: The cracked and faded blockbuster sign is a potent memento mori, inspiring a keen awareness of entropy and a sharp sense of loss in your opponent. As blockbuster is, so shall they one day be.  Are there weedy plants growing up through cracks in the pavement? Oh man, thatâs even better. The perfect fight location. 10/10

gansey: adam i want you to know that we will talk all the time while you're at college. i will email you daily but no pressure to respond right away. take your time, i know you'll be busy taking the world by storm and being the literal best human/magical forest hybrid on the planet. i love you so much adam
adam: thanks gansey. can you please stop crying though? we're going to the same school. we requested each other as roommates
okay iâm not going to write too long an essay about this right now because iâm just too tired but i want to point out that there is absolutely something to be said about stories being told in media that specifically are not about sex or romanceÂ
iâm talking about stories about people being friends and partners and brothers and sisters and mentors and being absolutely vital parts of one anotherâs lives in a nonromantic way. because that type of story supports the idea that being important to someone =/= (necessarily) being romantically or sexually involved with them
those stories tell people they can have unbelievably strong and valuable bonds with people aside from a sexual or romantic partner
that type of storytelling breaks away from the idea that youâre supposed to devote your entire life to a sexual or romantic partner and that everything else has to be background noise. and unfortunately what happens so much of the time is that people assume that because these stories are being told, the storytellers are somehow devaluing sexual and romantic relationships. somehow propping up the importance of nonromantic bonds has become grounds for accusations of trying to tear romance down or stand in its way
itâs natural for people to want to be important to someone else, but thatâs not always necessarily in a romantic context. itâs natural for people to want to be very clearly important to a friend or a sibling or a mentor. itâs natural to want to be an intrinsic part of someoneâs life in a nonromantic context. and this type of storytelling tells people, âlook at how important (x) person is to (x) person! and theyâre not sexually or romantically involved! and by extension you can be this important to somebody without being sexually or romantically involved with themâ which may be entirely inconsequential to certain people but may be incredibly valuable and vital to others
the bottom line is people are allowed to value nonromantic/nonsexual relationships and theyâre allowed to push for stories to be told about them. and they should be able to feel free openly talking about it without being accused of attempting to marginalize anyone. romance is everything to certain people, sure, but it isnât everything to everyone
