And that is for one simple reason: most Franco Belgian comic volumes are self contained stories. You can pick up almost any Asterix, Spirou or Tintin comic, doesn’t matter what issue and you will be able to follow and understand the story perfectly.

For manga it is serialised and a step above the “pick up any volume in whatever order” ideology of franco belgian comics but it’s still easy. You just start at volume one and go from there.

How will this work?

You already know who you want to work with? Great! Fill this form! 

If you do not have anyone: 

I will provide a google sheet to fill for those of you who do not have someone to write with.  Please either choose from the people already there or fill it!

The description says 5 chapters, but we only need THREE: each writer will write three (3) chapters, for a total of six!

You (as a team) will choose two (2) tropes and two (2) prompts that are opposite!! This will be most fun if your choice are truly opposite, so keep that in mind as you choose!

How many words per chapter? You will decide a range between the two of you. What is doable for each writer always changes so it is up to your team to decide.

I’ve been a fan of his work for years, so getting the chance to collaborate with him on FLY felt surreal. As a fellow Black artist with Ghanaian roots, his journey has always inspired me. Seeing him carve out his own path through art is a reminder of what’s possible when we bet on ourselves and our stories.
