I think your argument for ai is flawed. “Oh just don’t buy a fridge and don’t use AC and don’t shower and don’t buy a phone” do you see the problem with that statement. People can’t do that. People need air conditioners and AC and showers and phones to survive. People do not need ai the same way we need those things. “Just buy smaller amounts of meat” it doesn’t work like that.
Refrigerators make things sustainable in a way that we seem to underestimate just because it’s a common household appliance. Do you know how much more meat we would have to waste and how many more animals we would have to kill to abolish refrigerators? Do you know how much more we would have to spend to not only buy more food but also drive/walk/transit back and forth to the store for every meal? Do you understand how much of a waste it would be to throw away a cows worth of beef because it goes bad in only a few days? Do you understand the health complications that would rise for not being able to sterilise our food?
And on the topic of showers. “Well everybody showers and not everyone uses ai” maybe because we also need showers to survive and we don’t need (generative) ai??? Do you know of how much rampant disease was around because people didn’t wash themselves? People’s immune systems can be weakened or born weak due to genetics. People don’t waste water when they shower because the shower has a goddam purpose.
AC is another big deal for me because, again, people literally need AC to survive. People cannot live in parts of the world without air conditioner. People cannot breathe without air conditioners and filters. I don’t even want to hear “just move somewhere else” because not everyone can do that. There are 9 billion people on this earth and not everybody lives in an area with comfortable temperatures. Air conditioning is a technological miracle just like showers and refrigerators and for you to say we should get rid of that before we get rid of AI is idiotic. Global warming exists and AI is directly contributing to it, but you can’t ChatGPT your way into a colder house.
The phones, of course it’s always the phones. People need phones and computers. People cannot get jobs or do schoolwork or order food or talk to people without using a phone or computer. You would not be able to receive this ask on tumblr dot com without a computer. It’s very hypocritical of you to say we should be using our phones less when you yourself are using one to talk to AI chat bots that are detrimental to your mental health.
You sound like you assume everyone is privileged enough to live without any of these things I just listed. You sound very privileged yourself. Not everyone can live eco-friendly but we are doing the best we can. Not everyone can go plastic free or recycle or go without a refrigerator or shower or air conditioning. You are part of the problem by using AI.

I am done defending myself against everyone. If you don't like me then block me. I am not gonna constantly keep trying to fix the situation. I am a gimmick blog for crying out loud. I'm probably gonna get over this blog in a few days like my other 20 blogs I don't even remember the usernames of.
So I'm done defending myself. As a sign off, I wanna say, to each his own. You like reading your own fanfics, I don't. You can easily find the perfect ship you are searching for and I sometimes don't. So I end up using AI blogs or askign my friends to roleplay a thing with me.
