[Headcanons] Anaxa, Ashveil & Severian: Reacting to Reader Asking to Be Held Bridal Style

Note: this is written during version 2.8, and weβre yet to see more of his character in canon, so this is purely my speculations and wishful thinking, donβt take it as an analysis of his character.
Raises his eyebrow in surprise; a second of silence follows once he processes your request as if he evaluates whether itβs a serious inquiry or mere a joke from you.
Wonβt refuse outright. Anaxa is arrogant but deeply invested in those he respects (especially you). He weighs the pros and cons aloud: something about βtesting the limits of human enduranceβ (aka his own) or βobserving your reaction for research purposes.β
Once he decides to indulge you, with a deep sigh of compliance (and maybe a few muttered complaints), he scoops you with a surprising ease with one his arms under your knees and the other one around your back, holding you close to his chest.
And once youβre in his arms, he becomes noticeably softer. βThere. Satisfied?β He asks playfully annoyed, but his visible eye softens when he looks down at you. He stands proud and upright, but his grip tightens around you protectively if you shift.
If you nuzzle closer or relax fully against him, his usual arrogant mask might crack: a subtle warmth creeping up to his cheeks. Maybe this experiment is not that bad, after all.
A soft, delightful smile appears on his lips, despite a growing flush on his cheeks.βYou want me to carry you? Right now?β He asks, a little surprised. Heβs secretly thrilled: he loves the trust and closeness it gives.
Tips his hat with βAs you wish,β and quickly and easily lifts you in his arms, with one arm under your knees, the other securely holds around your back, holding you effortlessly.
Once youβre in his arms, he holds you a little tighter than necessary. He loves how perfectly you fit against him: your head under his chin and he nuzzles his nose into your hair and sways you gently.
If you ask playfully (βCarry me, my detective~β), heβll chuckle and sweep you up dramatically, spinning you once before settling into the bridal carry. βAs my lady wishes,β he says with a fond smirk, though his blush gives away how much he loves it.
Loves carrying you bridal style: it blends his protective instincts and his desire to spoil and cherish you.
His ears perk up and his tail gives one sharp surprised flick as his golden eyes widen in surprise. He blinks slowly after regaining control as he process that unusual request from you. He straightens his posture, and says lowly yet amusingly, βBridal style? If you wish soβ¦β
Does it with an effortless grace. One of his arms slides under your knees, the other supports your back as he lifts with no problem.
His long, fluffy tail betrays his emotions. It swings from side to side. His ears stay slightly perked and happy the whole time. If you nuzzle into him, you may hear a low, deep purr rumbling in his chest.
The composed Senior Commissioner feels a rush of protectiveness and affection. Holding you like this makes him feel like heβs truly safeguarding the person dear to him.
When setting you down, you may catch him being almost reluctant letting you go with his ears slightly lowered.
