i mean, the oaths are to stand where others fall, and this man, originally just a commoner, outlasted his fellow heralds who had betrayed him, to hold off the end of the world single handedly for 4,500 years. i could go ON and ON about Taln and how he's like the only true noble herald/surgebinder.

and when he returned, this man did not show an ounce of contempt to the people who left him to get brutally tortured for thousands of years. he instead was so incredibly grateful and happy that humanity had progressed.

designed my own shardplate! (yes, i am a windrunner) it's basically Kaladin's shard plate but with different pauldrons, breastplate, and helmet.

if you really want some details, i actually based him off a portrait of a Tibetan man i found on pinterest! he had such a regal yet rugged look that i knew he'd be perfect for Dalinar.

thought i'd share my take on the main four of the Way of Kings.

Kaladin, Shallan, Szeth, and Dalinar

max mayfield needs more appreciation.

i grew up in an almost identical situation as she did (loud, abusive, tyrannical father and brother) and i can assure you it sucks. having lived an almost identical life to hers, seeing what happen to her hurts, for sure.

but what pisses me off is the billy praise.

billy was a stuck up and abusive douchebag whom everyone loved EXCEPT for max. because she lived with him and saw the true billy every single day. i once saw a post that said "running up that hill" was used to vocalize how max wanted to take billy's pain. i can assure you that's not what the song was used for. the song clearly talks about someone struggling severely and wishing that the person who hurt them got a taste of their own medicine, AKA max having a deep bitterness toward her brother for being a horrible person.

in the final episode of s4, max straight up says how she wanted billy to die and that he made her life a living hell.
