patton, in my little brain, is deeply nostalgic and whimsical. obviously. but there’s more to that, yk? his board i have made is veeery lighthearted, admittedly, with some heavy hitters that you don’t even really Notice on first glance
lonesome but childish paintings, of things like candies or teddy bears, or honey bears sat in meaningless voids paired with an obsession over beanie babies and also calico critters but mostly beanie babies
that is me… kinda projecting but like. the age range is there that he’d have been Around during The Age of everyone thinking they’d eventually have lots of value, and now patton is left with an ungodly amount of beanie babies thomas was given to both entertain and hopefully help pay his way in the future, and while there’s no real money value, there’s a whole lot of love in them! but patton’s kinda. idk, i think he’d relate to that a little
being deeply loved and cherished but also expected to be soooo much more, missing the mark and having so much left. their stupid little eyes and imperfect forms mean the world to him.
it’s also just SO nostalgic and kinda childish because that’s where things were simpler. that was before he had to worry about the Catholic Church and Thomas’s image, about real moral crises and if he’s really good or not. things were simpler when it was about cartoons and beanie babies and homely paintings and honey bears.
why can’t he accept himself? the image that comes from has a guy stabbing basically his twin in a very cutesy style and almost seems tarot-y. and yet, despite all this being trapped in nostalgia and what ifs and trying to be something he isn’t- the sun will always shine again.

some reasons for each part and the building of it under da cut
the written quote i did is done chaotically on purpose!! and also because it made it fit better lol, it’s a quote from disco elysium! “a tremendous loneliness comes over you, everybody in the world is doing something without you.” the game has so many devastating quotes and it felt right to add it especially since my orange side interp has some inspo taken from the game!!
my logan interp is focused on the stars, not only from a scientific and also generally beautiful thing perspective, but like. idk. i don’t do much gender fuckery with the sides just because it feels a little odd, but logan aligning himself and his identity with something so scientific but also just utterly Beautiful. everything is made of the stars. humans, robots, other things i don’t wanna list out, you get the gist: but also!!! thomas wants to be a star, and so does everyone else, and they all get to be at least somewhat creatively inclined and he doesn’t. the only way he’ll ever make it as “a star” is if he’s one in the literal sense- and he is! because just like a star he’ll burn bright and then explode into a million little pieces, or really, uh. the fool being a fairly lighthearted and sweet tarot card but also holding SO much here. what he once was, before he lost his sparkle, paired with the image of what seems to be a bunch of kids (the sides and their younger selves) back when he felt appreciated and needed- and now, he knows just how little they actually think of him, and he’s been the fool all along. owie! i had also intentionally made them fade a little around the edges.
the lines of don’t being a mouseketool that’ll help us later! don’t show emotion, don’t care, don’t put too much weight into the other’s lack of care, don’t love, don’t get too close, don’t stick your two cents where they obviously don’t want it- a little mantra that hurts me deeply
also while older/more recent ss screenshots are hard to find on pinterest, i also chose the younger ones where he’s already losing his Sparkle with purpose!!!! in my board for him i do have a large amount of him before the shit started to get to him- but we know that already. i just thought parallels of when he was younger/more naive paired with the current reality would be a little Ow in a way that hit right
also made sure to sneak in some orange!!! both in the overlay i swirled over it to give an almost sparkle/filtery effect, to kinda give a millennial feel (kinda throwing back to like… superwholock, which i am an avid logan truther about.) but also to bring in more of the orange side!!!!! also why i chose that exact picture of da stars.
i will be drawing him eventually but like. ough. his room being an exact almost mirror of logan’s, including the inversion. sure, different colors and his desk is eaten up with radio shit, but they still have that same fuzzy rug, the stars projected on their ceiling. instead of walls lined with books it’s lined with CDs and records, magazines, but it still invokes the same feeling. dark, polished wood, with decor placed exactly where logan’s was but instead of lego statues it’s signed pics.
i should make a post on my hcs of each of the sides rooms actually…..
one of my fav things ive done is that patton and logan both have stars on their ceiling, but logan’s is a projection while patton’s is those glow in the dark stickers. both are reaching for the stars, but patton’s are far more achievable- logan’s hand will fall through, break the illusion
