Canon? Never Heard of Her.

To avoid unwanted guests from crashing the party, the three of you decide to do the sleepover at your dorm. You spend the afternoon tidying up and making the room as cozy as possible. 

Fairly lights stringing from the ceiling.

Scented candles lit all around the room.

Extra blankets and pillows.

Matching PJs

Jo of course, brings matching pjs that he made himself. 

Jo sets his bag on the floor with a grin.  “Can't have a sleepover without these.”  He pulls out three silk pajamas with vertical stripes. Each in a different color.  “So this is why you asked about our favorite color?”  “Yup!”  You run your fingers over the fabric.  “They're beautiful.” Jo gives a small curtsy. “I’m glad you like them.”   Romeo takes one and immediately inspects it. “Hmm. The fabric’s good quality. The colors are nice. The seams are sewn well.”  Jo smiles.  “High praise from Romeo. I'm grateful.”  .... A few minutes later, all three of you are changed into your matching pajamas.  “We look adorable, don’t we?” 

Snacks & Movie

You volunteer to bring the snacks. This was an errand you actually enjoyed. 

You put together a simple charcuterie board with salami, cheese, crackers, sliced bread, tomatoes, and jam. 

Jo gasps at the presentation. “Wow! This is beautiful.”  “Thanks! I got a few tips from Sho.” Romeo huffs.  “Not bad for a BB.”  You roll your eyes with a smile. “I’m glad you like it, Romeo.” 

Of course you prepared all the other sleepover essentials too. Chips, popcorn, ice-cream for desert, and a few (mature) drink. 

Using a projector you borrowed from Mio, the three of you end up watching a cheesy romance film. 

Jo: “Awww. That’s so cute.”  Romeo: “They’ve only known each other for 48 hours.”  Jo: "Love works in mysterious ways.”  Romeo: “Love? That’s Delusion.” Jo: “Wait…MC, are you crying?”  You: “N-No. Popcorn just went in my eye.” 

Skincare

Now it’s time for skincare. Naturally, Romeo takes charge. 

He has a full suitcase dedicated to skincare. Cleansers, toners, serums, moisturizeers, eye cream. All neatly organized for different skin types and concerns.  

He even brought 3 led face masks for each person. He may or may not have bought it just for this occasion. 

Fun fact: Jo prefers doing his skincare in his male form because it keeps his hair out of his face.

Romeo watches you wash your face in disgust.  “BB…Are you trying to rip your skin off?”  So he reteaches you how to watch your face properly.  Then Romeo watches Jo wash his face. He simply nods.  “...Acceptable.”  ... You’re about to put on some lotion. “Come here,” Romeo motions you to him.  You obediently sit in front of him.  “I’m not trusting you with these serums.”  He pats each product into your skin with skillful hands. It feels like a nice massage.

Once everyone's' routine is finished, the three of you lie down wearing matching LED masks. 

You look like a bunch of villains.

Girls Talk

“There’s one thing we absolutely have to do.”  “What?” “Girls talk!”  The three of you lie on your stomachs in a circle, chins resting on your hands.  “I’ll go first.”  Jo flashes you with a mischievous smile.   “So…do you like any of the ghouls?”  Your eyes widen. Mouth agape.  “N-No way. I'm too busy for that.”  Romeo butts in.  “Good BB. Romance, especially with these GFNFs, is a complete waste of time.”  “GFNF?”  “Good-for-nothing fools, obviously.”  “Oh, right.”  Jo lets out a relieved sigh.  “I’m glad. For a while, I thought you might’ve liked Elias.”  You laugh at the thought.  “Glad we cleared it up because it couldn't be farther from the truth.”  Romeo scoffs, folding his arms. “That man is colored with red flags.”  Jo nods slowly. “I know he’s our member. But I’d have to agree.”  You all laugh at that. 

End of the Night

Romeo and Jo both value quality sleep, so the sleepover ends quite early. 

“It’s a queen-sized bed. I’m sure we can all fit,” Jo says, switching back to her girl form.  Romeo sighs as he slips under the blanket. “If this affects my quality of sleep, I'm leaving.”  And somehow, you end up squished in the middle.  The room falls quiet.  For the first time in days…your mind isn't racing.  You let out a small breath.  “Thanks, you guys.”  Jo turns toward you.  “Hm?”  “I…really needed this.”  Jo smiles warmly.  “Of course. We can do it again anytime. Right, Romeo?”  He lets out a quiet huff.  “Maybe...If I can fit it in my schedule.”

“Heard you had a sleepover without me.”  Steps closer.  “Without your husband.” Steps closer.  “You’re a bad wife.”  Steps closer.  “We’re having a sleepover at the heebie-jeebie house. Now. And we'll have so much more fun.”

The two of you have been spending a lot of time together.

He thought nothing of it. You’re just his kind senior, showing the new student around.

Lately though, he'd started noticing little things. How often Tomoya's name came up in conversation. How you'd leave early to meet him. And how your face brightened whenever you're around him.

He thought it didn't bother him…so why couldn’t he stop looking over?

It seems that you’re showing him something on your phone. Tomoya stands awfully close to get a better look.

Clang.

Mio stares at the wrench lying on the floor.

When did he drop that?

Focus Mio. Focus. 

He picks it back up and returns to work. 

Then the sound of your laughter reaches him.

What could possibly be so funny? 

He peers over. 

Thunk. 

“Ow!” 

He accidently slammed the hammer on his thumb. 

The two of you look toward him in surprise. 

“Are you okay?!” 

Mio laughs nervously. 

“Yup. Totally fine. Sorry for the noise.” 

Focus Mio. Focus. 

That was strange. Mio is the best craftsman in all of Darkwick. He's never been this clumsy before.

He’s almost done. Just a few more adjustments and he can move onto his next project. Away from this place. 

Just as he picks up another nail, he sees it. Tomoya casually wrapping his arms around your shoulders. You were only explaining how the Catsmo app worked.

There’s no need to be that close…right? 

You had a puzzled expression as you looked at the screen. 

“I actually don’t know about that–”

Swoosh. 

Mio slips in between the two of you, as smooth as the wind. 

“M-Mio?” 

He points at your phone. 

“That feature only works if you unlock this.”  

You and Tomoya blink in unison. 

“...Thank you?”

Once Tomoya heads off to class, you walk over to Mio. 

“Mio.” 

He jolts. 

He turns around rigidly, almost like a robot. 

“Y-Yeah?” 

“Are you ok?” 

“What do you mean?” 

"Well...You kept dropping your tools, you hurt your thumb.” Your finger points at his unfinished work. “And that would usually only take you a few minutes, right?” 

Mio just stands in silence, staring at you. 

How is it that you always seem to notice everything?

A small huff leaves his nose. 

“I didn’t realize how much it was bothering me.” 

You tilt your head.

“What was?” 

“You...spending so much time with Tomoya.” 

At his own confession, Mio's cheeks visibly heat up. But so do yours.

“Mio were you...jealous?” 

"Maybe? I'm not sure." He rubs the back of his neck. "It just kind of reminded me of being the oldest sibling again. Missing my parents' attention, and all."

You blink. Then fail to hold back a smile.

"Wow. What a very Mio way of describing jealousy."

Immediately, he drops into a crouch, burying his face in his hands.

"Don't tease me right now." he groans. "I don't even know what I'm saying."

A chuckle escapes you and you crouch right in front of him.

"No, it's a good thing. It's just very...Mio."

He lets out a long sigh before lifting his injured hand.

“Look, I was so distracted watching you that I hurt my thumb.” 

You laugh again. 

“Well then. Would you like my help patching it up?” 

“I mean, if you’re offering…”

You glance over his shoulder. 

“Oh, but don’t you still need to finish that?” 

Mio looks back at the unfinished project for a few seconds. Then turns back to you. 

“No...” He smiles. “I’ll just do it later.”

The Jabberwock Safari Park buzzes with chatter as you rake the fallen leaves. Haru, a few feet away, is surrounded by many students. Everyone seems to be having fun. You smile. Business has been going well for him.

“Aww~ he's so cute, can I pet-” 

“Hiss!” Peekaboo snaps at the guest’s outstretched hand.  

“Eeek!” 

Haru laughs awkwardly. 

“Sorry, you can’t touch Peekaboo. He’s not exactly the friendly type.” Haru whips out his ultimate service tactic. “But here, you can pat my bum instead.” 

The crowd bursts into giggles. 

“Oh Haru, that’s so improper!” 

“Gahaha! Offer’s still open till the end of the tour!”

You can’t help laughing too. That’s just Haru. Somehow, he always knows how to make people smile.

A few minutes later…

“MC!” 

You turn and freeze at the scene. 

Haru is carrying one of the guests on his back. 

Despite his frantic expression, all you could focus on were her arms wrapped tightly around his shoulders. 

You feel a knot in your stomach. 

“MC!" His voice snaps you out of it...kind of. "She hurt herself trying to get on the Capybus. Can you unlock the dorm door?”

“O-Of course!” 

You hurry ahead and pull the door open. Haru rushes inside with the guest still on his back. 

You linger outside for a bit, trying to hush your thoughts. 

Snap out of it. Someone got hurt. This isn’t the time.

But the scene you walk into doesn’t help either. 

The guest, sitting on the couch. Haru kneeling in front of her, holding her ankle gingerly. 

“How’s this?” He carefully rotates it. “How about now?” 

The girl winces. 

After checking a few more things, Haru stands. 

“Phew. I think it’s just a sprain. But we should have Professor Nicholas check on it.” He pats her on the head a few times. “Try not to move it too much, okay?” His voice is so gentle. So soft. 

The girl’s cheeks flush. 

“Thank you Haru. You’re really kind.” 

“Gahaha! This is the bare minimum, especially for our precious guest.” 

Precious. That word. You hate how much it bothers you.  

He reaches for the first-aid kit, unraveling a piece of cloth. 

“Alrighty, let’s wrap this baby up–”

“I’ll wrap it!” 

Haru and the girl look up, surprised at your sudden enthusiasm. 

You force an awkward laugh. 

“I, uh, learned from Jiro recently. The best of the best.” 

“Ok then," Haru smiles. "I’ll leave it to you.” 

___

The rest of the guests help the injured girl back to her dorm.

Haru keeps waving enthusiastically until they’re completely out of sight. Only then does he turn to you. 

“Man~ that scared me. I thought I was gonna get sued.” 

You chuckle. 

“I don’t think they would do that. They…like you too much.”

“I guess my customer service today was top notch, huh?”

Yeah. Maybe a bit too much. 

Another weird thought. You shake your head, trying to silence the ugly voices in your mind. 

“Thanks MC. You being there was super helpful.”

Your heart skips a beat. 

“You were so eager to help her.”

With each word, guilt grows in your chest. 

It wasn’t for such selfless reasons. 

“You really are so kind–”

“I’m not.” 

Your eyes glue to the ground.

“H-Huh? What’s wrong MC?” 

“I didn’t do it because I’m kind.”

Your fingers curl into clenched fists.

“I did it because I didn’t want to see you helping her anymore. I did it because I was…jealous.”

Haru blinks, processing the word like it's a foreign language. 

“Jealous, huh?” 

…

“JEALOUS?!”

His arms flail in panic.

“Can you not say it so loudly?” you groan. 

“It’s just…I just…” He studies your face for any sign of joking. There’s none. “...I’m sorry?” 

“N-No. It’s not your fault. You’re just so kind to everyone. I guess it got to me a little.”

For a moment, all Haru can do is stare at you. At the red on your cheeks. And the way you refuse to meet his eyes. 

Then he lets out a small huff. A mischievous grin slowly taking over his lips.

“You’ve got some cute parts to you, huh?” He reaches over and ruffles your hair. “What? You want a piggy-back ride too?” 

You push his hand away. 

“D-Don’t treat me like a kid!” 

“Gahaha! Sorry, sorry. Couldn’t help myself.”

Then the smile fades into something gentler. 

“MC.” His voice is unusually serious. “Can you look at me?” 

It takes a few seconds. Looking into his eyes right now sounds…scary.  

But when you do, it's filled with a type of warmth you've never seen before. 

“You’ll always be special to me…Don’t ever doubt that.” 

“Haru...”

“Boo~ Boo~” 

Peekaboo jumps into your arms. You barely catch him.
