that's so sweet! I myself just read through atmihk (well, in a few sessions, but every word all over again) tbh so I could get myself into the mindset to properly finish it. Like everything else with this story, the ending kinda stopped working (or, I should say, the planned ending) because I had changed so much of what led up to it. Not necessarily plot-wise, but more the development of characters and their relationships throughout. And I know it's taken me forever to get this far, but I have to say that I'm glad I did what I did, despite the extra time it took. To me, it's worth it, now that I can see most of it published and reshaped into something with MUCH better emotional payoffs. Of course it's easy for ME to say that it's been worth all this time I put into it, since I'm not the one waiting months for updates lmao. But thank you for your patience and supportive words. It really helps me keep my motivation to get through this last stretch and finally post my epilogue. (not trying to brag but the epilogue is cute and I just want to get to it already)

The subject of the painting was a woman with golden hair pinned to bob around her chin and a particular, puerile way of standing, head and neck jutted forward, hands defiant on hips. She wore a diaphanous periwinkle-blue dress and had a man’s suit jacket across her shoulders, as if it had been offered against a chill. Her head was turned to stare at the viewer, but the meaning of her expression was difficult to discern because the hollows of her eyes were cast in deep, almost skull-like shadow. Every color in the painting was black or blue or brown or gray. The entire image was subtly imbued with desire, signed Niall Lynch.
