i honestly just threw ages at the wall because I wasn’t really thinking about the timeline while making them

My submission for @tea-potato-gt ‘s fanart competition for A Borrower at the End of the World’s first anniversary! This was my first full animatic so it was a bit daunting for me but quite fun. It could have been a lot more polished and keeping the lighting and position of characters consistent was more difficult than I anticipated but I’m still happy with the way it turned out! :]

(Also, yes, that is me breathing. I had to pitch it down a bit so it actually sounded like a teenage boy.)

Here was the initial concept I sketched up. I initially wanted to put Layla in the background asleep as well as incorporate another frame where Jace sits with his head in hands at the edge of the bed, but time did not permit me to do so. I also wanted to have a frame of Jace holding Layla as he watches his mom’s death to have a parallel to the way he holds his heart when he wakes up but alas…
