never tell me to keep cooking i won't shut up. here's me rambling more:
I like ur idea a lot... I think that Dev would be a little scared of it in a self-hatred kinda way. Like "What if the thing he wants most is a new godkid?... I suppose I'll just have to accept that, it's what's right"
And yeah like I said once he wishes for it, Peri says that it would be against Da Rules because past godkids can't remember but Dev's just like. What. Huh. THE Periwinkle Fairy-whatever-I-forgot's GREATEST DESIRE is AGAINST DA RULES??
What could it even BE? If it's his greatest desire then it has to be something big- does he want to KILL SOMEONE? Peri, do you want to KILL SOMEBODY???
When Peri clarifies (with such a melancholy tone) he's honestly kinda disappointed. And then, kinda sad? Because that's... sad. That's sad. Dev didn't have any siblings himself to compare it to, but like. Hazel was sad even from her brother just being in college, right? But Peri's brother is like. Basically DEAD. To him, at least.
Then he gets. an idea. And he's a little hesitant, because this might mean that Peri leaves him, but he told himself he was gonna be nice and let Peri have whatever he wants out of this wish, and he means WHATEVER. So he says: what if you just made it so Timmy thinks that you're his normal human brother?
Peri goes to say it's against the rules, but stops, because- is it? He checks, and, well, maybe there's a rule about godparents wishing they could be in their godkids lives again, because that's probably happened before, but nothing about godbrothers. He may not be the only godbrother ever, but most fairy godparents would probably take a break from the job in order to have a child. That not happening, paired with a requirement for the child to also become a godparent when they grow old enough... He doesn't think it's happened before.
He's hesitant about loopholes. He learned from Timmy in the first place that rules are usually there for a reason, and skirting around them just leads to finding out why they existed in the first place.
But it was a loophole that lead him to be born in the first place, wasn't it? So maybe, maybe, a loophole that allows his whole family to be reunited again...
There's a lotta places it could go after the wish, too! It's SO SO WEIRD for Peri to adjust to having Timmy in his life again, like don't get him wrong he's grateful, but he had almost accepted that Timmy would never remember him again. What is he supposed to do now that he does? And, more importantly, how is he not meant to burst into tears every time he sees him?
Cosmo and Wanda are ecstatic. A little concerned, yes, but at this point they're far too used to loopholes. If it works, it works, they say! When Jorgen tries to undo the wish, they argue as they always have: if it's not in Da Rules, it counts! Jorgen realizes that maybe having another Fairywinkle-Cosma on the godparent scene isn't the best, no matter how much he loves his baby cousin Peri-Weri. Nothing he can do about it now.
Dev. would get jealous. Unless Peri was able to catch his distress in the middle of figuring out how his life is supposed to work now, Dev would get jealous. It would cause some strife for a while, as Peri has a hard time even conceiving of why Dev would be mad at him again, but he eventually figures it out. It's hard to try and organize your time correctly when your brother has been gone for 16 years, but he loves Dev as well. And he's gonna forget one day too, isn't he? He doesn't want to think about that, but... um. he figures out how to prioritize spending time with Dev while also having the occasional moment with his brother.
Timmy is. confused? He remembers... he remembers his birth parents. And he remembers that one day, Cosmo and Wanda- what, moved into his house? No, probably next door, and basically became his actual parents. And then one day they had Poof. Peri. And... well, part of him says that he's known them ever since. But, ever so confusingly, another part of him says that he stopped knowing them when he turned 18, and only met them again when their phone numbers showed up in his phone, under 'Mom', 'Dad', and 'Peri'.
But they've been here. He remembers they were here. Doesn't he?
It's weird. But he supposes ever since he was 10 his memories have always been weird (and, oh, rest assured Peri has a major crisis over messing with his brothers memories again) so. It's not too much of an issue. He loves his mom, his dad, and his brother. And the two kids that they respectively take care of (something about neighbors who babysit Hazel, and Peri was... an "au pair"? whatever that was) are pretty alright! He sees a lot of his kid self in both of them, truth be told... despite his scarce memories.
I'd like to think that eventually, after a whiiiile, he remembers For Real. Maybe something happens or maybe he just straight up pushes through the memory block. Because idk, I just like the thought of the fairies being able to have Timmy in their lives fully. Also I think it's funny when he's a full grown adult and his parents and brother are teeny tiny flying things.
They go to court to try and argue for Timmy to be allowed to remember this time. It's a close case, but Peri manages to convince them after throwing away his dignity and going "... poof poof?". The Fairy Council says it's the second most compelling argument they've ever heard, right after the same two words said in the Timmy's Secret Wish trial when Peri was less than a year old. Peri hates this, but hey. It worked.
But like I said, that'd be after a while. They have to get into Shenanigans about not revealing that they're fairies first, after all!
Okay I'm all rambled out and you are safe For Now.
