I really don't know how to explain to people who haven't heard The Paper Kingdom just how like. Pants shitting it is every time Gerard brings up birthdays on the current tour. Like yeah there's the one clip of the part that I'm referring to during the return show. But that isn't the same as hearing it in it's original context between two of the most fucked up songs I think MCR has ever made that we happen to be aware of.

Like the audio itself is generally innocuous but the context and the implications are quite thoroughly haunting.

Just like the way Gerard and charlie always act like little kids in the MOAT and the way the concept for TPK is about children dying and the way their parents cope with that loss really did start to make me wonder if lltbp would end up leading somehow into TPK

I've had the theory for a while now that the original plan for the return tour might have actually been TPK with the amount of times they snuck audio from the album into it, including right away with the birthday song and the sirens from dive in the return show intro

And now with Gerard making a more explicit reference to "a summoning" and the whole paper swords chanting in that video? Something is going on here and it's scary (positive)

And somewhat related to that the version of Dogs with the Ender's Game dialogue? The story where a kid is being trained to be a soldier and everything is a game until suddenly it isn't and you don't know that until you've committed actual genocide? yeah....
