Allowing abuse to perpetuate and continue without taking actions to protect the victims and stop the abuser is passive abuse.

All because you can’t kill a man who violated and mutilated kids and adults and animals.

That’s not strength in abstinence.

That’s weakness in a fancy costume.

It’s the stance of a billionaire, who will never have to suffer the same consequences as the average person.

It’s the stance of a weak man.

And I’m tired of people calling it bravery or morality. It’s cowardice in a bat costume.

He allows abuse to continue.

Not only on the city he swore to protect, but the children he brought into his life.

He sealed Jason Todd’s fate before that kid knew Bruce Wayne at all.

As well as Barbara and Jim Gordon, Dick Grayson, Tim Drake, Stephanie Brown, Harleen Quinzel, Sheila Haywood, Thomas Elliot, Sarah Essen, and every single other victim of the Joker.

Because he couldn’t suck it up and decide to break his rule for a man who he knows will not stop, get help, or be contained.

Batman allowed that to happen.

He let children into the line of fire. And he still chose to sacrifice the innocent to protect the guilty.

That is not heroism, or even anti-heroism. It’s not some code, or moral backbone.

Its weakness. It’s failure to protect, and it’s irresponsible.

Too many kids are either violently addicted to their phones or would go out on the principle of the matter.

And yeah partially that’s a problem with the individual in question, but also doesn’t disregard the absurdity of phone bans.

Just because theft is illegal doesn’t meant theft goes away, we have procedures in place, and those procedures are the entire basis of why theft goes down.

That’s why serial killings peaked in the 1970s-1980s. Murder wasn’t legal, but people still do it. In the 1970s, technology hadn’t advanced enough to be turned back on the killers. But now, the number of unknown serial killers has plummeted to a fraction of a percentage.

Why?

Because it’s harder to get away with it. Not because it’s fucking illegal.

“Oh my god depression gets so bad people can’t brush their teeth or wash their hair?”

People kill themselves because of depression. It’s not some spur of the moment act of passion. Most of the time it is a long and painful journey down a dark path. Even when people are on antidepressants they can be suicidal.

I genuinely feel a lot better.

It’s really really hard and I know I might not do it tomorrow but that’s okay, doing it here and now is all I can do here and now.
