So, Triple Changers in Sparkweave are a rare category of frame. Engineering cold constructed triple changer frames is a difficult task and, as they're resource intensive, they tend to be unique to the individual. Meanwhile, kindled triple changers are simply highly unlikely to occur (compatibility of parent alt modes plays into it, as does the compatibility of the carrier's spark with the requirements of this frame category). As such, there's a lot of unknowns around these individuals.

Ignited/CC triple changers are at a high risk for psychological issues and glitches due to their sparks being incompatible with the flexibility of a frame with two alts. Specifically for these two: Astrotrain has a hair trigger temper and trouble expressing this outside berserker rage. This is worse in his shuttle mode, which is the mode most often required of him. Blitzwing, meanwhile, shows no preference between modes, but is prone to extreme moodswings. He also claims to struggle to remember orders he is given, though whether this is a side effect of his frame, an unrelated issue, or a lie is unknown.

Kindled triple changers- such as Sandstorm and Springer- tend to be much more stable, unsurprisingly. There are two other interesting cases on the Autobot side, however.

Perceptor is an ignited triple changer prototype and much more similar to his kindled fellows. He has an immobile primary alt mode, but also a secondary alt with treads. He does not describe himself as a true triple changer, but also doesn't suffer from the symptoms typical ignited triple changer.

Idk man, I know I have said this like a billion times by now, but when it comes to skystar a lot of people just see Skyfire as a means to an end. They don't care about exploring the dynamic they have in canon, but about giving a Starscream a cute doormat boyfriend that is going to love him no matter what and save him from the Decepticons. Which would be whatever if it were just a fanfic or two, but this bleeds into most of Skyfire's content. You can't even mentioned him without someone bringing Starscream up (you would think that they made out in screen by the way people talk about them)

The idea that Skyfire is this understanding person that's going to welcome Starscream with open arms despite all the wrong he has done is... Kind of meta, if you think about it, because I think that's what Starscream was expecting to find when they took Skyfire out of the ice. He clung to his memory all of these years, thinking "if Skyfire were here, he would understand", imagining him as this ideal person who would support him no matter what.

But Skyfire didn't live up to the memory.

Skyfire saw him as he was and he looked at him with horror.

Starscream hated it so much that he tried to kill him.

To me, Skystar's appeal lays in the fact that their relationship was marked by a tragedy they can't come back from. They maybe could have worked before the accident, but neither of them can't love the other as he is now. Probably to his dismay, Skyfire is not Starscream's ideal partner.

Which it's why I found so annoying to see so many content painting him as such.

Like, hello? Starscream tried to kill him! And I know a lot of people love to talk about how sad it was for him to almost kill him, but Skyfire was the one who was shot! Starscream was the only person he knew in the confusing reality he woke up to, and he chose to break that trust. Skyfire would have died if it weren't for the help of the autobots. And again, it's annoying that people think of him as a doormat who is waiting for Starscream to come back, when Fire in the Sky ends with him trapped in the ice again after having a fight with the seeker. My guy can fight!
