man oh man, what a week. sam has been utterly depressed and ronnie, well ronnie is not making too man friends around here. i have to state that for the record i would like to remain neutral and in everyone's good favor. which to me means that if i'm hanging out with ronnie i won't talk to chinese fish with him and if i'm hanging out with sam, well then i'm just sad. and lonnie  oh lonnie, we will be singing!

Green Acres, The Beverly Hillbillies, and Hooterville Junction will no longer be so god damned relevant, and women will not care if Dick finally screwed Jane on Search for Tomorrow because Black people will be in the street looking for a brighter day. You will not have to worry about a dove in your bedroom, a tiger in your tank, or the giant in your toilet bowl. The revolution will not go better with Coke. oh man - i am so hungry. i’ve been hungry since last friday! sam has been really depressed lately, probably because of hunger too, (he’s got some blood sugar issues). lonnie has been her same old beautiful self, floyd’s trying to keep the spirits high and i’m just trying to find food!

i had the craziest thing happen to me the other day. i was doing my rounds, making sure everything was up to status and i had a run in with little stan. it was so strange right, we just stared at each other for what felt like minutes, but i know it was only seconds, and then he just darted away. not one word out of him. i mean, i guess i didn’t say anything either but still, no “hello,” nothing!

awhile later when i was doing my second set of rounds i got sidetracked looking for food and ran into stan again! this time i confronted him, you know any good leader loves confrontation. so i was like, “hey stan - what gives? no hello?” he just stared past me like i wasn’t even there. oh man you wouldn’t believe how mad i was- so mad that i revved up and was about to headbutt little stan then doug swooped in and saved stan’s life. then i had to listen to doug about me not respecting those that are different from me and how i need to be more accepting and understanding about different cultures. i heard cultures and automatically thought about yogurt and wondered how i could get my fins on some yogurt. man i’ve been so hungry.

so yeah, um moral of the story - stan doesn’t speak english and he’s not from america. so don’t talk to stan, it's just easier. 

sam here. it’s been a tough week. i realized that we exist in a time and space that’s fleeting. i wish we had more time. i wish we had more freedom and opportunity to try everything once, to love over and over. there just isn’t enough time. i have to say these thoughts have been consuming my every minute; which feels like a waste of my limited time here. i swim round and round and wonder what’s out there, is there more to this life? what am i missing out on? i realize that i’m so lucky to have been born in america, and california for that matter, but why, what’s the point?

you know what, i’m sorry, i'm being a downer. we just are, we just were, and we just will be specks of dust in the universe, when it’s all said and done.

we had a great weekend. well, i did, the fish had to stay home. robert and i celebrated one year together by going to medieval times with an overnight stay in the luxurious buena park, ca. (i'm washing everything to make sure we didn't bring any critters home.) 

we had a lovely time but missed our fishies terribly. i think it's time to set up a live stream so we can see what they're up to. they didn't seem to care that we were gone when we got home but i know they missed us. 

on our way home from lovely buena park we decided that we would like to get an anniversary fish - so robert and i went to our local aquarium shop and robert picked out the cutest and sweetest little chocolate goldfish. his full name is sam beau jackson, we call him sam beau when we're mad at him and beau jackson when he's being good (that's what robert just told me). 

i'll post pictures soon when he's more acclimated to his new environment. he's just about the cutest little fishie i've ever seen!

well hello there. my name is floyd, some know me as pretty-boy floyd. robert gave me that name when i came to this fine group back in october. robert and christina purchased a “new” fish tank (plus 2 fish) off of some list named craig. sometimes i miss my family, my old “dad” had to give me up because his wife said that he was keeping too many tanks, whatever those are. it’s a shame really. back in october i also lost my best friend, ghostface killah, that’s right they separated us. it’s a long story, but basically, he had a bacterial infection eating off half of his face. it was very gruesome and sometimes difficult to look at, but i got used to him. have you ever seen the walking dead? that’s what ghostface looked like. he was like a brother to me. if you could, please bow your head for a moment of silence in honor of my pal, ghostface.

 thank you for that.

 i am very fortunate to be here. even though they all rejected me at first, i always had the love and support of robert. he thinks i’m the cutest fish around. what a guy. christina is very lucky to have him. i hear they’re going to medieval times this weekend to celebrate their one year anniversary. wow - what a treat! i wonder what they’ll do for my one year anniversary?! ok, well it was nice to meet you all, talk to you next week!

 hey. ronnie here. my friends call me ronnie. some would say that i’m the leader of this little mafia, i mean family. this year has been something else. our main lady christina, got herself a boyfriend! i sure like that guy, he’s a big dude just like me - works out a lot. i am by far the most buff fish in the tank though, i have been very blessed with all of my fins. i bet sam didn’t tell you that he’s missing a couple. i knew it, he never tells the whole truth about himself. i bet he told you some mumbo jumbo about being the “quiet strong leader” - he’s wrong. trust me, he’s wrong. if anyone is the leader, it’s most definitely me. shoot, i forgot that i have to go eat a snail before the others get to it. i’ll be back.

 hey, sam here. i don’t know what christina told you about me, but i’m the leader of the group. have been since day one. at our second birthday christina gave a stunning speech about the three of us (back then it was only three); she described us just right, using her love of film to portray us as the characters of the classic paramount hit, the godfather. i’m michael corleone - a quiet strong leader, ronnie is sonny - a brut, take it or leave it kind of guy and lonnie is like connie. oh how funny, that rhymes! lonnie is great, so petite and pretty, always singing the most beautiful songs.

we got floyd back in october when christina decided to move us for the 3rd time last year, i think she was just finding herself, you know. it takes longer for some. floyd’s alright, it took him awhile to find his place, i mean, first off he’s a “fancy” goldfish and not that christina would agree with me here, but we’re more run-of-the-mill, feeder-fish, fair-fish, nothing “special.” oh! and we have two algae eaters, they help keep the tank clean. we don’t really interact with them, their names are doug and stan. stan doesn’t speak english, he’s from china. they pretty much just keep to themselves.

i don't actually know if it's my fishies half birthday but i needed a decent "first blog post" title. something other than, "it's leap year - yay!" because really, who cares. except for my fish and me when we get to next year and we can't celebrate the one year anniversary of the re-launch of bubble bubble, that will be a sad day.

i have to say that i'm very excited to introduce to the world, my 4 extraordinary goldfish. through this daily (m-f) blog, we will take you on magical journeys of love, loss and survival. actually, it will just be a whatever we feel like talking about from each of us. it will probably be very boring and mundane as we don't get out much.
