To Drown A Star 🌊☀️
The blinding rays soften
as they reflect
in sparkling aquamarine
off of the waves
of the polar oceans
like a blanket
for critters in hues of warning
to hide beneath
in the dark, treacherous undercurrents
The surface
so steady
when viewed from orbit
the swirl of clouds obscuring
revealing
the storms on the open sea
It feels safer this way
to only drown in the guiding light
of the blue giant
But it is hard to see, down there,
where the light barely reaches
in the crushing pressure
of its own company,
how elegant
the weave
of its waves
through the fabric of uncertainty
quietly stitching together
what comes next
