For this Wednesday's WIP, here's a work in progress drawing of Oceana in the trrend of a GTA girl, and an excerpt from chapter 4 of "The Dragonborn and the Housecarl" (story published on Ao3 and ongoing).
In the drawing, I included Bantam Guars to show that she is on a beach in Morrowind.
"The Dragonborn and the Housecarl"
Shortly after sunrise, the two women were still asleep, until Lydia felt a ball of fur near her nose. Snapping her eyes open, she saw her thane’s strange skeever stretched out between her and his mistress, like a cat.
Rising slowly, she gave the dark elf a gentle shake. Suddenly, the large rodent reared up and began to growl loudly. Lydia quickly pulled her hand away from the Dunmer’s shoulder, fearing she might be bitten.
"Radan, lie down," the thane ordered before going back to sleep.
Radan lay back down, making no further sound. Sighing, the housecarl hoped she wouldn't have to do this every morning trying to wake the mage or even have to deal with the familiar.
"My thane, wake up," said the Nord woman calmly.
"Just Five more minutes…"
Lydia knew what that meant: a more abrupt approach was needed to get her out of bed. Tearing off the blanket, which sent Radan rolling, the Nord woman exclaimed:
"Come on, wake up! We have a long way to go!"
Sighing, the dark elf slowly climbed out of bed, muttering unintelligible words as her skeever approached her. After donning their clothes and armor, placing Radan in the bag, and gathering their belongings, they headed to the tavern’s main room for breakfast.
