So many other trans people seem to have no broader interest in what they are talking about

its all treated as interpersonal instead of societal

“Drama”

its all boiled down to how you act with your social circle

i think in many ways its the central flaw of the lgbt "community" is that most people within it view it more as a social club

instead of anylyzing something like transfeminism or the phenomenon of transMRAs materially, these things are judged by how conducive they are to interpersonal exchange. its like the whole movement is one big thanksgiving dinner where we "arent supposed to talk politics" cause it makes your racist uncle nervous

"cant you just drop the transfeminist stuff? we hardly get to see your brother and you know how much it sets him off. lets just have one nice dinner, as a family"

The idea that “women are just as much to blame for sexism as men” is so so deeply ignorant. Why should we be expected to shut up and be polite for the sake of “trans unity”? Why can’t men be expected to treat women better? Is that too outlandish a request?

This has been a line used again and again to quash internal feminist movements within larger marginalized groups. It has been done to black women, to working class women, to women of every stripe and creed. We are told “sit down and wait your turn. Smile for the camera, we’re all united here. Don’t put yourself before the needs of the whole”

But we can’t be real. We must be CIA plants. What REAL trans woman would ever feel the need to complain about her treatment at the hands of those who are supposed to relate to and understand her.

I am not a separatist, though I understand the pain that motivates them, I just want feminism and more specifically trans feminism to have a place within the trans movement. Thats all I ask.
