Greetings, if you are reading this it may mean you are or know someone who is either genderfluid, agender, nonbinary, trans etc. And you don’t want to use the wrong pronouns.

Well, if you or someone you know are trans. Whichever gender you or they have transitioned to would be your pronouns to use. For example. A female has transitioned to male. The pronouns are now he/him/his and such. Even if they have not undergone surgery, taken T or any thing else than binding, even without binding. If they tell you they are a he, then it is good manners to respect that and call them such or at least they them.

For thee opposite, a male that has transitioned to female. Same thing in reverse. Even if she has not started taking estrogen yet, even if she isn’t wearing makeup. If she tells you she’s a she, then she’s a she.

Another way to help is asking. Seriously, as long as it doesn’t come off as rude.

I.e. “What are you?”

That is a no-no. It’s like you’re referring to them as an object.

More so try “Pardon me, we have just met, but I would like to know if you have preferred pronouns?” It may seem a little weird and you may think it’s presumptuous. My friend’s who are both cisgender male and female do not mind at all when asked by members of the lgbtq+ community. But, it’s always better to try to read the person and then decide the best approach.

Most people who are comfortable with their gender identity will inform you of the pronouns in the first few conversations you have with them. You may forget sometimes. My friend Lucas, who is a ftm transgender, used to have a very feminine name. I often forget to refer to him as Lucas only because I knew him longer as his deadname, but I usually correct myself and refer to him properly.

I am genderfluid and even on my ‘guy days’ as my boyfriend likes to call it, I may not wear a binder. Mostly because i have breathing issues and a binder exacerbates that. I simply wear more masculine clothing and enjoy more masculine activities. I’m still a he on those days, even if I still have a woman’s chest. It’s all about asking. My friend’s constantly ask and if they aren’t sure they just refer to me as a they or them which is perfectly fine.

So, whether you are trans, know someone who is trans or genderfluid, just follow along there and also look at this nifty chart I found on a college website.

my favourite part of the Evolutionary Biology courses I took at the University of Toronto was learning that several bird species have 3+ sexes? the ruff bird is a great example - each male variant has a different (and successful!) reproductive strategy, and a different chromosomal sequence.

unlike the ruff bird, human sex falls into a bimodal distribution - this means there are two strong peaks (”typical” male and female morphs), with a whole lot in between.

evolution is nice way of saying “statistics played out longterm among living organisms”, and evolutionarily successful traits….aren’t something to hold up as natural or moral, or representative of an advanced state. it’s literally just fuck tactics that make your group size increase.

(though fucking isn’t always the best route, as asexual reproduction is massively advantageous as a short-term strategy, and certain species dominate the landscape by switching between sexual/asexual depending on environmental conditions)

besides all that, the strength of humankind has always been our ability to work together communally, and that’s straight science. so even if you went down the extremely problematic path of valuing fellow humans based on their potential evolutionary contribution (coughs, eugenics, coughs), there would still be zero scientific basis behind discriminating against trans, non-binary and intersex people.

TRCNG is a group beneath TS ENTERTAINMENT, a company that was previously managing B.A.P, and also sistergroup SONAMOO.

Earlier today word has gotten out that two members of the group, Taeseon and Wooyeop, are sueing the company for child abuse and injury resulting from violence. they also want to terminate the 9 year contract they’ve signed with TS ENT.

Not a lot of people know TRCNG, but the members’ ages are between 19 and 18. Some members have been training at TS ENT. for over 5 years before they made their debut on 171010. This means some of them have been at this company with abusive staff for over 7 years.

Below is a part from Soompi’s article on the case, and I’d like for everyone to read it as it’s truly disgusting what the members have been put through. 

According to Wooyeop and Taeseon, Park Sang Hyun forced them to practice choreography from 5 p.m. to 5 a.m. every day, and they had to report to the company again at 10 a.m. for vocal and personal practice. The members could not travel two to three hours round trip to properly attend school, so they switched schools in their second year of high school and are currently two years behind other students of their age.

Wooyeop and Taeseon said that Park Sang Hyun also assaulted the members using a game as an excuse and cursed at them continuously. The agency did not take any action when the members where injured while B-boying, so the members went to the emergency room by themselves to receive treatment. They were not provided food, and their dorm’s water and power were cut off due to the bills not being paid. As the agency did not take action when their air conditioner, toilet, and purifier were broken, the members’ parents fixed them or purchased new ones.

Regarding choreography director Yoon, he is said to have assaulted Wooyeop with a steel chair on June 10 of this year. The company did not take any action, so Wooyeop went to the Soonchunhyang University Emergency Room by himself and was told that he would need 14 days to recover. He went back and forth to and from the hospital for two days, but he was transferred to a different hospital nearby due to a high fever. His temperature exceeded 40 degrees Celsius (104 degrees Fahrenheit) when Park Sang Hyun visited the hospital and said, “One person’s life can be ruined because of you, so be careful of what you say.”

After Wooyeop was discharged from the hospital, Park Sang Hyun and other managers said that he is lying and that he got sick from drinking and meeting up with girls. Wooyeop is now receiving counseling at a hospital. He shared that another employee of the agency also extorted 1.2 million won (approximately $1,030) from him.

According to the statement, Taeseon was scolded and hit often since trainee days because he is the leader, and he says that he was hit in the head and cursed at when being scolded. He decided that he can no longer remain in the company while seeing the lack of action taken when Wooyeop was assaulted and in the hospital.

The company has also released their counter statement, stating Taeseon and Wooyeop are both lying, and some of the TRCNG members also do not agree with the accusations. However, these members are all children. I can only imagine they don’t feel comfortable about speaking up against the abuse, and these distasteful powerful people threaten them just as they threatened Wooyeop when he was in the hospital.

TS ENT. will sue Taeseon and Wooyeop back for the harm they’re causing the company by ‘spreading these lies’ and also for defamation.

6. HOW TO SURVIVE A HEART ATTACK WHEN ALONE? Since many people are alone when they suffer a heart attack without help, the person whose heart is beating improperly and who begins to feel faint, has only about 10 seconds left before losing consciousness.

7. However, these victims can help themselves by coughing repeatedly and very vigorously. A deep breath should be taken before each cough, and the cough must be deep and prolonged, as when producing sputum from deep inside the chest. A breath and a cough must be repeated about every two seconds without let-up until help arrives, or until the heart is felt to be beating normally again.

8. Deep breaths get oxygen into the lungs and coughing movements squeeze the heart and keep the blood circulating. The squeezing pressure on the heart also helps it regain normal rhythm. In this way, heart attack victims can get to a hospital.

9. Tell as many other people as possible about this. It could save their lives!!

10. A cardiologist says If everyone who gets this mail kindly sends it to 10 people, you can bet that we’ll save at least one life.

11. Rather than sending jokes, please... contribute by forwarding this mail which can save a person’s life.

Tumblr is an even playing field compared to websites like Twitter, Instagram, and Youtube. Which means its up to us, the users, to spread the word of people we enjoy-- the way the internet should be.

When creators say they’re discouraged from creating because their posts get no notes, they don’t mean they will refuse to create unless their last edit reaches at least 1k notes. What they mean is that the effort they’re putting into creating something purely out of inspiration and the need to share their passion and creativity with the world is being consumed and forgotten, just like it is on Instagram. Tumblr has changed from having an even reblog-like ratio, or even twice as many reblogs as likes, to being another social media where users consume content instead of sharing it.

We’re not trying to force you to reblog everything or want you to fill your blog with things you don’t like. But Tumblr is built on reblogs and likes. This is not a fast-food company where you can order something, consume it, and then throw it away. The very base of this website is sharing, as opposed to Instagram. Here, likes don’t give our posts exposure, reblogs do.
