As i was drawing a modern elias design, i was thinking about his past and i realized another elibarra parallel opposite moment: Elias was an asshole rich kid who became better when he became victim of spanish colonial system, while Ibarra was a kind but ignorant rich kid who became worse after he got a taste of his own medicine (super simplified but yea)
Despite fruitlesslg searching for his family's tormentor, Elias became a silent semi-vigilante who helped out people in small ways, building up a sort of urban legend for himself in the towns and outskirts, becoming unrecognizable and slippery as an eel, his presence a balm of mystery and hope.
Despite already havig his family's tormentor within his grasp, Ibarra became a loud flamboyant capitalist who made the lives of others even more difficult and rash, building up a name for himself, controlling and corrupting the seat of government in full view, his presence exarcebating the cancer that was already present in the society he seeked to destroy.
Thrifted this catalogue of the Prado from the 1950s, the typeface on the cover is pretty unique, but I can't figure out whether it's a variation of the font used on the inside or whether it was designed just for this. Any ideas?
The font on the cover is Greco (1924) [Daylight Fonts · Fonts In Use].
The one on the title page is Elzeviriano Ibarra (1931) [Fonts In Use].
Both these fonts were produced by the Richard Gans type foundry in Madrid.
