Broken Record Poetry

You weren’t my rock, you were my eagle, carrying me through the clouds so that I too could be free. Free to see the beautiful wonders of the world, and the limitless sky.

Depression: even if they fell out of the sky one day they wouldn’t like you, let alone notice you

With a twitching nose and his snout in the air, he smelled something delicious.

“Smells like it’s coming from the living room”, he thought, as his tail began to wag. He could hardly handle the excitement that filled his little body, and his mouth started to water as the smell became stronger.

As he ran into the living room, he immediately froze. His body felt as if it became stone, and even his tail came to an abrupt stop. To his surprise, what he found didn’t fill him with food or delight, but with something of quite the opposite.

Unexpectedly, it filled him with a sick and unexplainable feeling of horror.

On the coffe table sat a large box of a mostly eaten Dominos pizza, an open laptop in the sofa crease, and Netflix on the tv asking “are you still watching?”

With a twitch of his whiskers, and a soft growl at the back of his throat, he saw evidence of what he feared.

Only a month we've been apart

You look happier

Violets are blue

I’ll find someone who loves me back

It’s unsustainable, and quite possibly dangerous.

Happiness is foreign to me, in which I cannot get acclimated.”

Adoration, and insubordination.
