What kind of old computers that are a pain in the ass to get working are you working with?
just old office computers! not crazy old, usually they're made for windows 7. I got an old dell optiplex 3010 sff that I love dearly and has been made into a variety of things over the years, and I recently got a levono ideapad 320 and a thinkcentre m92p. there's been a couple others I've given to friends. I'll install linux on them and just kinda mess around with them. but the levonos are the only ones to give me trouble! their bios seems to have its own weird quirks with windows bootloader - so they took some messing around with recently but I got them booting reliably into mx linux. I've upgraded the internals of the thinkcentre and it's gonna be a video/media processing pc for me :) I also recently got an old vista era HP that won't post or display properly, and I'm gonna tear into that soon and see if I can't get it to post
