💖 Which of your fics is your pride and joy?

I've written a lot of fics over the years that I'm proud of, honestly. And it's a lot easier to look back and be proud of older fics because new ones haven't had time to marinate in my brain yet.

One I'm still especially proud of is probably None of Us are More than Caretakers, my "missing episode" between Last Hurrah and Institutional Memory in TWW. I wrote the whole thing in six weeks!

🙌What’s a line or paragraph of yours that you’re proud of?

It was nice to rediscover some of my banter-writing abilities earlier this year considering how blocked I've felt for most of it:

“Exactly,” CJ says. “The only problem is that just like everyone else, we’re cut off from- what are you doing?” It’s Danny’s turn to bite out a quick, “Hang on.” He fumbles around in his jacket pocket, CJ trying to give him a bit of space, before pulling out- A satellite phone. CJ looks from him to the phone, and honestly, she really could just kiss him. Instead, what comes out of her mouth is, “And here I thought you were just happy to see me.”

😁What makes you happiest? New fic comments, kudos, bookmarks, user subscribers, story subscribers, or Tumblr asks?

I like being part of a fan community, being able to chat back and forth about my ships and also ideas and inspo.

🎵 Do you make playlists for your fics?

Not typically! It's just not something I think about usually (is that weird, lol?).

I guess the one exception is the time loop fic I've been working on, I have all of the Stranger Things score in one playlist so it's easier to cycle through.

I've maybe shared this one before but I just like what I say in it.

“And I love my job, Danny, but…” She takes a deep breath. “I thought if I played by the rules, if I made myself unimpeachable… but none of it mattered. It didn’t matter what I wore or who I dated or didn’t date, because the minute I screwed up… This can’t be my whole life anymore.” His face changes. “It’s not-” “It is! It’s my whole life, and I was happy with that. I really was, but… this whole thing made me realize that I’m always going to be under more scrutiny. And that’s fine, because at the end of the day, I love what I do. But… I can’t let this be everything I am anymore.” Danny nods, his eyes watchful, almost wary. “And I guess I always thought I’d wait until we were out of office. Maybe that sounds presumptuous, that you’d be willing to wait that long, but… I guess it’s a moot point now. I know it’s a lot to ask, and trust me, this is not exactly how I expected this to happen, but…” “Yeah?” “I want you. I… I like you a lot, Danny, and I’m tired of acting like I don’t because I think it’ll make everyone trust me more. Because…” “Because they didn’t anyway,” he says quietly. [...] “I understand. Just… the President said something to me before. About how we don’t get all of him. And it just got me thinking… what am I waiting for?”

This is from my beloved (and somehow like two years old already? oof) season 3 secret dating fic, Wrong Place at the Right Time.

The musical score to The West Wing, season 1, episode 12, "he shall from time to time..." ? (lol).

By which I mean I can't think of any better soundtrack to the two of them having their first kiss than the music we get onscreen 😄 (is that a cop-out? Maybe.)

I write a lot of romance but I don't actually know that I find it easiest, lol.
