Excuse me while I’m having a fangirl moment here over hearing that you both watched and liked Love and Thunder. I promise I’m not telling you know who about it - your secret is safe with me. Thank you so much, I already love you for hyping me up. I hope you know that we’re now friends and this friendship shall last forever. Feel free to talk to me about Star Wars as much as you’d like, as long as I get to fangirl about you and your work too.

You’re fangirling over me? Dreams really do come true. Thank you for not telling him, we can’t have that ego getting any bigger than it already is. I feel like our entire friendship is just going to be us hyping each other up and crying over each other and I’m in full support of it. Should we get drinks or something to seal the deal?

Today’s international FaceTime fun featured my son telling me about his latest dream.

Sebastian: I was a statue who had been around since before Jesus.

Me: … what?

Sebastian: You know. Like BC. That’s when I was being built out of stone, and then I saw the whole of history but I couldn’t do anything about it because I was a statue.

Me: *slowly puts phone in a locked drawer*

I don’t have offspring so I can’t really offer any funny insights myself. But man, kids say and do the funniest things. I remember working with Jacob, my now bff on Room and kid wouldn’t come near me until I could prove to him that I was cool. Gotta love them.

Here’s something that’ll really blow your mind then, Larson isn’t my real last name. Are you ok? Do you think you can handle all this ground breaking news. Hi Christopher, I’m doing great just settling back into town. How are you doing? You know, I don’t really like being called Brianne but I guess I’ll give you a pass. 

Yeah, I’m a huge fan of the fashion from that time period. Feel free to come over and you can try some on. If you see anything you like, you can borrow it, after all we are best friends now. It’s just wonderful to see someone else have such a passion for it too. My mind always runs to fashion so sitting in a pile of clothes I just tried on isn’t anything out of the ordinary for me. Now you have to come over! Packing can wait. I need to see your items. We can pretend it’s 1964 and we’re preparing for a Beatles concert. Beer and food are still on the table, of course. Sounds like we’ll be working up an appetite.

I love this, I think the sixties and seventies had some of the best styles of dress, followed closely by the nineties of course. I’m definitely coming over, borrowing clothes, bringing things for you to borrow. We’re going to be the cutest and best dressed best friends around. I have no doubts about that one. Nothing wrong with that, though. You like what you like, right? The rest can sort itsself out later. Oh I’m coming, I’m bringing everything. Can we re-create some famous Beatles photos too? I’ll order us the best pizza in town then. 

Nope, you’re disowned. How could you? Okay, I’m kidding, you know I love you. Come over whenever you want. We’re home right now just soaking up any time we can get when the twins are sleeping. Your boy is tired as hell right now. I’ve missed you, too! I’ve been good. Life is pretty great right now minus the whole getting woke up during the night by crying babies but I’m getting used to that.

I’m sorry! I’m the worst person ever and I deserve to be disowned for my crimes. Awesome, thanks! I have so many gifts for you and the twins and a couple things for Z. I swear I’m not trying to buy your love but hey, whatever works at this point. How about I swing by this afternoon? I can even watch the twins for a bit so you can try to nap. I don’t know how you two are doing this on your own, but I applaud you. Well just remember when they get older you can wake them up at ungodly hours just to be annoying. That’s your parental right.

You know, for someone who just moved you think I’d be eager to unpack and get settled in but no. I found a box of sixties clothes that I’ve been collecting over the years and as soon as I did, I decided give myself a little fashion show. It’s now been three hours, I haven’t moved a single thing, clothes are haphazardly thrown on the floor and I have absolutely no idea where to start. All I’m asking is someone come over and kick my arse into gear. I’ll provide wine or beer for whoever is gracious enough to do it and if you’re extra nice, I’ll even order us some takeout. @mountmeadow

You have a box of sixties clothes? I think we might end up being the best of friends. I love that you just went straight for the fashion show. Who needs to unpack when there’s clothes to be trying on? I would come over, but kicking your ass into gear probably wont happen. I’d just bring over some of my sixties gear and demand a new fashion show. But I guess for food and beer I can try to help you stay on task.

Finally, someone who will take on the odds. I already appreciate you. I’ve been thinking about that, but like me not unpacking feels pretty much like second nature to me, so I will see you on this bet.  you’ve been here before? it’s my first time and i can say the view around here is pretty great. I’ll have to check out the boathouse – what are this new places you want  to explore?

I’m always willing to take on the odds, so just come to me anytime you need someone to bet against you or whatever. Well if you never unpack that’s fine too. It’s your house, your stuff if you wanna live out of boxes nobody can stop you! I have, yeah! I left to go do a Disney documentary thing I was directing. It was just easier to go back to LA during that project and honestly when I stepped foot in my old house I wasn’t sure I was going to want to come back so I sent for my things and left for awhile, but well, Mount Meadow is way better than LA so here I am. The pier! There’s an amusement park and a bunch of other fun stuff. Including camping grounds. I love nature so I’ll probably have to go camp here soon.

“Just a heads up, if you happen to see me wandering about with a confused look on my face, I’m most likely lost. I’m absolutely terrible at finding my way around in new places, and I have just arrived here a couple of days ago, so I have’t had the chance to get out and familiarize myself with the area. Does anyone have any recommendations on things to check out? Spoiler alert, I love food and it’s the key to my heart. Oh, hi! I’m Claire, by the way. I probably should have started with that one. You’re probably thinking ‘who is this strange lady?’” 

Okay so you’re in luck, Mount Meadow isn’t as big as it seems and nobody ever really gets lost. Trust me, when I was here before I thought I was going to stay lost and never actually did. If you love food just go downtown and stop in at every spot, also hit up the beach for some really amazing tacos and margaritas, if you drink of course, at Beach Burrito Co. For attractions, anywhere in the mountains are good, the lavender farms and the vineyard are some of the most gorgeous spots I’ve ever seen.

In my tired haze, I had forgotten what a ball ache unpacking was. From the boxes taking up the majority of my space to losing half my wardrobe and only being able to locate mugs instead of glasses, I’m losing my mind. I’ve unpacked my clothes and right now that seems like a reasonable place to stop for today so I’ve come to a halt. If anyone wants to join me for a glass mug of red wine feel free to come on over. I’m using a cardboard box for a table and don’t have my TV hooked up yet but I found scrabble in one of the boxes so let’s play. @mountmeadow

As long as you have clothes and mugs you’re really set for days. You can drink anything out of a mug and you’ve got something to wear when you need to go out to buy something to put in said mug. You’re really living the high life right now. Cardboard tables and mug wine? You really know how to speak to my heart, don’t you? I’ll bring a bottle myself and I’ll try not to win in scrabble. Host should always win the first game at the very least.

I’m debating how long I can go without unpacking fully, i don’t know but my last time I unpacked it took me weeks after I got back home. anyone want to bet that I don’t last after that week? I can say however; i can see in the beauty of this mount meadows as I came into town. everything is so great, but since moving in I haven’t gotten to see everything yet. What are the best places to go to here? i’d love the suggestions. //  @mountmeadow​

I’ll take those odds. I’m not much of a gambler  but I love a good unpacking bet. I get the feeling of not wanting to unpack because it is quite the chore but I love getting it done quickly. Then you have more time to enjoy the beauty of this place and come home to a nice comfy box free house. Well, I’ve not been back too long so there’s a few new places I want to explore, but I really enjoyed The Boathouse last time I was here, as well as everything the mountains had to offer.

Now I don’t know if this is just because I’m jet lagged or if I’m actually just this dumb but I just got here last night and started to unpack… which is a process. I’m exhausted from flying from Budapest to Venice and now here. Sleep deprivation really came into play because I went to pick up the can of coke I had laying on the night stand of my bedroom and completely missed my mouth when I tried to take a sip, spilt it all over myself and my bed. So now I have to get up and change the sheets (as well as myself) despite having only done do a couple hours ago. So that’s how my day is going so far. How are you? Hope you’re having a better morning than I am. @mountmeadow

Oh we can definitely blame that on the jet lag. Especially with all the traveling you’ve been doing. I myself may have done the same at some point but that’s not something I want to admit today, at the very least. Sorry you had such a rough night though, the good news is it’s gotta be a better day today, right? I’m good, nothing exciting happening to me over here just doing the whole unpacking thing and cursing myself for ever leaving this town.

“I kind of want to crawl into bed and hide; I just moved here, which is awesome, and I’m really excited, but I have to fly back and forth from here to Boston because of filming a movie. I’m not complaining, I’m happy about working and being in a new place, but I would love to lie down and sleep. You would think I’ve gotten used to being tired — nope! I feel ya girly. I tried to move here when I was filming The Marvels and it just wasn’t working for me so I just booked it to our filming location and went back to LA for a bit for another project. I’ve got a bit of downtime now though so we’re trying this whole moving thing again. Hopefully your work schedule slows down a bit here soon and you can get some rest. Lets go to White Rabbit and get some coffee together. I could use a cup or five myself.
