Fay smiled brightly at him. “Let’s see. I’ve been to Hawaii, Italy, Greece, and Scotland. I’m thinking of going back to Europe at some point, making my way down into Spain, and possibly going to Africa, but we’ll see.” She said. “You must have lied to me. You’re very good at this.” The brunette squeezed his hand gently and smiled. “Maybe I’ll pay a visit to your dig site.” She said, raising their hands and spinning gently beneath his arm. “I’ll take any excuse to see you again.” She smiled devilishly once she returned to him, and continued to dance. “The artifacts and things you might find are interesting too, of course.”
A soft hum rolled off his lips in response. "Rather the traveler- I see." Light snicker. One that floated into the air about them as they continued to move about. "I guess this old dog does remember how to dance." It was utterly a miracle that he hadn't stepped on her feet yet. Let alone crashed into someone else. Must be the company, seemed to be the only answer. Still from afar it might appear that he was leading the dance.Yet that would be very wrong,in fact she was. Arms up they went and there she twirled. "Grown on me already, Miss Fay?" Smile playing back onto those lips as the spin ended. Still what a thing she was. Ease-ful laughter rolled off his tongue as he shook his head at her. "Now, it's my turn to be cheesy." Cheesy, for what was to come, might be an understatement. "My dear, there is only one interesting thing in this room- an artifact her say....and that is you."

She lets out a playful snicker, sheer amusement for the man nearly oozing out. Eyes narrow as the blonde nods off in his direction. “Guys a real pain, you get his attention for a minute, then, whoosh! He’s outta sight,” by now she’s a bit irritated at the lad behind the counter. An hour and a half pass by, she only has two drinks, and he has 3 new friends at the other end of the bar.
Eyebrows raise at the readiness of the bartender, watching him as his stance changes from still to busy, he begins pouring the man next to her’s drink. She haven’t much time to watch his actions though, because in a flash he’s back, bearing a tall glass of beer. Even less time is given to Holly before bodies press together, a lively laugh spilling from her lips. “…Saunders, Holly Saunders. And please, the pleasure is all mine”
Lips curl into a vibrant smirk as glasses meet, making the softest of clink-ing noises. Heads tip back as they drink, both tongues taking a moment to savor the flavor. “And who is it I owe the pleasure to? Surly you’ve got a name…” It was the first step in meeting someone, asking their name, and she was rather curious what his was. Head tilts to the side, an elbow resting on the edge of the bar as her chair swivels slightly in his direction.
A snort shifts out as lips attempt to down the smile and play off a soft side, more play into his soft side. "Jackass-." Slip of the lips as a smirk shifted forth from the smile as he looked down the counter to see their friend chatting away with the others. A shake of the head as Robert is already looking to slightly stretch out. If he were at the hotel- his shoes would have been off by now. But he isn't- so there he sits legs against the counter's frame as hands to the very edge. A sight to see, to put it plainly.
The noise spills forth into the little area around them causing no attention to really be set on them, but it was late and noisy here and there. It was just to be expected. Still a nice ring it has- like a small bell bringing forth the new day. Eyes cast themselves to the glass as open ears take forth the name. "Pleasure- Holly. I'm Robert, Robert Young." Very dull name, primarily compared to her's. But it was his name and he did claim it as his. A name that came forth into the air and claimed his ears so many times a day. He really didn't have much a nick for nicknames either.
So Robert it was, and Robert he told her.
Lips take the drink and let the liquid run like a river down his throat. Fulfilling all that it needed to. Rocking him away after a long day. A need for breath stopped him as the bottle was brought away and seated on it's napkin. "So tell me, and let me just say I hate to sound so goddamn cliche but- from around here?" As Holly trns to him,he turns more towards her. Both out of manners sake and out of a sense of curiosity towards the blonde.

Fay laughed lightly. “So you’ve found out my plan. I’m trying to capture the hearts of everyone in here. I have everyone else’s…I wonder, do I have yours?” She raised an eyebrow and smiled slyly. When he called the other men in the room ‘boys’, she grinned. “It appears that I’m the lucky girl, having found the only man in the room.” She said. Her free hand rested comfortably on his shoulder. “I think you’re doing very well with all of this fancy stuff.” Fay chuckled, slowly beginning to move in time to the music. “It’s a shame, you know. I’m probably the youngest woman here, so I’m more like a girl really. So the only man found the only girl.” It was a lame joke, extremely lame, but it was the only thing she could come up with. Her eyes trailed lazily over his face. Her dark eyes finally locked with his. “Tell me more about this trip to Asia and France.” She said, her head tilting slightly with interest. “I take it that you like to travel. I used to travel quite a bit, until about a year ago, when I came home.” The brunette said, smiling at him. His company was very nice, far nicer than anyone else in the room.
"Reveal everything about me on one night, darling- I see thought grow founder in mystery. Just as I like to be." A smirk, laced with honey, slipped it's way onto his lip as he replied. Another evident response that showed exactly how she was playing out in his mind. Ears stay attuned to her words as the dance continues. Soft and slow- easing it's way through each little this and that. His chuckle suddenly rings out in response to her joke as he made sure to keep in step with the tune. "How ironic, how dearly ironic." Sure, she might be as such- but she was probably the most interesting person here. Or the most interesting to Robert at the least. Eyes sparkle upon hearing that magical word, traveling. "Dearly- traveling is both work and play, though Asia & France are really just digs looking at ancient religious sites. A bit of burial but- something that I'm looking to beat a few others too. Get them, as cliche as it sounds, into a museum." He dearly needed to brush up on his phrases, but at this moment they were provide the point that needed to be presented. "And where have you gone, if you don't mind me asking?" Always questioning himself in words. Habit of his, one hardly to be broken, yet- one that annoyed himself.
{ I'm pretty sure Robert really just loves Female company. Not fully for sexual purposes or anything like that- though he does enough that. But more because all the women that talk to him really just have a lot to say and aren't afraid to say it? He finds it refreshing and very nice to talk with. }

Hazy Evening by Stuart Rankin

The moment sound filled her ears, she turned towards it source, eyes landing on the older man seated next to her. His corny little joke make her smile, raising her spirits a bit. She straightened her back, the glass making contact wit her lips. Alcohol burned a bit as it ran down her throat, but nothing she wasn’t used to.
After she took a sip, shoulders shrugged, a small smirk forming at her thin lips as she shifted her gaze towards him. “Could be better I guess,” the words were a tease, in reality the liquor was rather satisfying. The lightest of laughs fell from her lips, blonde hair cascading down her shoulders as her head dipped for a second.
”Now, what’s a handsome fella like you doing out at…” eyes scanned the surroundings got a clock, before meeting back with the man’s once more, “at nearly 10 o’clock? Surly you’re meeting someone?” the question was blunt, but it sure would save her one hell of an awkward situation if a cocktail clad woman came waltzing in to steal him away.
It was nice to hear someone actually responding pleasantly to his humor. A warm welcome, to put it lightly. Eyes were alight with a younger youthful feel as they look ahead. Still listening, but drifting elsewhere. "Drat- picked a shit bar, again. Just my luck." Smile cracks into his words as those hands stretch out and the work of the day seems to unfold before him. "You'd be surprised- but, meeting someone is not the reason. Unless you count the bartender whenever the hell he gets down here." Another joke. Maybe it was just the evening hours playing at his mind. Or that tiredness again. Either or- it looks like it'll be a rough night in terms of comedy.
Eyes spot the bartender, finally making his slow and merry towards them. Determination reins true on his face as two fingers raise forth to grab the bartender's attention. It's not long before the younger gentleman stands before them. Face eager and ready to listen. "Schneider-." And with those words the bartender is off. The choice itself is a German based beer. One that's hearty in flavor. Strong too. Choice drink at this point in the night. Much needed at this time, too .
Smile ringing forth on his features, he looks back to her and figures why not. It was almost like his motto for the night. A beer arrives for him and holding it so- he takes the woman at his side in. "Pleasure to be drinking you miss.....?"
Fay laughed lightly. "I think having you juggle would be very entertaining." She smiled at him. The brunette tilted her head and stared at his hand. "You're not the first man to ask me to dance today, but you are the first who is actually interesting. Not to mention the rugged good looks." She smiled and took his hand. "Let's." She said, motioning for him to come with her onto the dancefloor. "I must admit, most of the men in here look at me as if they've never seen a woman in a cocktail dress before. You don't look at me like that. I think you're high class, higher than they are." She said, stopping and turning to face him once they were in the middle of the dancefloor.
Hearing that he had been, in a sense, the lucky man of the night brought a sense of pride to his heart and crafted a much more open man. Willing to speak even more than before. "Women after my own heart, you are." The smirk leaped it's way onto his face and seemed to take up permanent residence. It had been a while since he had actually danced in a formal setting, but Robert attempted to look cool and content. Give little way to that idea. Instead he would hold her hand in his like gold and be led out. "Hm- probably haven't. Poor lads- probably never seen a woman naked either but...maybe that's not a topic for now." Playing the boy vs. man card might not be the best for the formal setting around him, but- so far everything he said has done well at playing in Fay's interest. Something which felt much more ideal. Taking their place, Robert slowly let his other hand drift to her waist. "Now- you must be slow with me, have to remember how to do all this fancy stuff."
A light blush ran through her cheeks and she took another drink. "Flattery will get you everywhere, Robert." She said, smiling. "I will arrange for my father to fund your trip to Asia or France. Both even, if I tell him that I've been a good girl." She shook her head and chuckled. With a sly smile, she leaned in to whisper in his ear. "Oh my soul is very much intact. Not very pure, but intact. Is yours?" She teased, pulling away from him and smiling. The brunette looked around and sighed. "You would not believe the amount of these people that have come up to me to pitch their ideas. Most of it is complete and utter nonsense." She said, smiling. Her dark eyes trailed over his casual form as she finished off her drink and placed it on one of the passing trays.
Light smirk, one that barely clung to his features. That, instead, was light and airy. Though, no comment, instead that smile in her direction. "An Angel- bless your heart." It was nice to know that he really didn't have to suck up, or attempt to talk to some of those 'low life's so that he could get a few bucks for this trip. Honestly, this talk with this young lady was beyond refreshing. Not to mention, it gave him many a good laughs. "Hmm- I could easily answer that, but I think mystery is always something. There's a chance, Ms.Fay." A chance, but the smile lingering on his face easily pointed to the obvious. "Oh I know exactly what you mean, I've been to much too many events like this. Like a little mini circus. Just- no bearded woman. A lot of juggling. I would attempt for you, but I don't think breaking the fine china would be looked upon well." Following her example, he too placed his drink down. Almost as finished as it was. No point to continue his hold on it. Yet, his hands felt too free and he was eager to do something at this point. Which turned him to his new question. "I hope you don't find it wrong of me- but, I would greatly enjoy to dance with you. We can continue our conversation as such, too." Hand out, his eyes almost held a youthful twinkle.

If there was anything Holly loved more than life itself, it would be drinking. Whether she wanted to have a fun time, or block out negative thoughts, she always found the answer. That must’ve been why her feet dragged her over to the bar just a block or so down from her place.
Her intentions were to meet someone, chat with them, and just have a relativity good time. But, the night was proving to be the opposite. She was slouched over at the end of the bar, watching aimlessly into her glass, which was half full of spiced rum. The blonde was so caught up in her own little world to notice the man that sat down next to her.
Tired, simplest way to describe Robert as he stood there. Eyes looking up at the sight that laid out before him. Foreign in appearance it looked perfect. Sure, though, he could have easily went back to his hotel. Melted under the covers as the day fell fully into night. Yet, this was his first night in the area and he had many nights ahead as the first day of the dig had slowly unfolded. Now it was time to soak in the area, to do whatever. To experiment, for- 'When in Rome'.
Feet dragged him inwards and quickly brought him to the bar, delivering his seat next to a blonde woman staring endlessly into her glass. Bartender was off doing something else, for someone else, leaving Robert unoccupied. Fingers slowly laid flat against the bar top as eyes scanned the surrounding- landing on the woman next to him.
'When in Rome'
"Dear God- the alcohol isn't that bad here, is it?" Soft and small smile became laced upon those lips as he looked in her direction. Terrible joke, on his account...but at least it was somewhat of a conversation starter.

Fay laughed at his joke and took a sip of her champagne. "Yes, my father really knows how to bore people, doesn't he?" She asked, smiling. "I'm here because he can't bother to come to his own events." A roll of her eyes, and the bitter moment passes. "Money? I can give you that." She shook her head and sighed, running her finger around the rim of her glass. Money and funding. That was what everyone in the place wanted. Her lip practically curled. Most of them hadn't worked a day in their lives. "Funding for what, may I ask?" She tilted her head slightly, a stray curl falling onto her cheek. She rolled her eyes again. "I'm not usually a part of things like this, of you couldn't tell already." She said, giving him a secretive smile.
Well that answered that. Robert almost wanted to kick himself in response to her words. A fool, most likely, he had made of himself. Yet, there was no ability to take back the words-so he just listened and nodded. Taking note to both her comments and the bitterness that played out about talking of her father. Lips lightly purse as he considers how to put it. Though plainly seems to be the idea of the night, plainly and straight forward. "A dig- over in either Southern France of far jungles of Asia. Going to look for temples or burial sights. Either or." Slight shrug that seemed to almost roll into another chuckle. His shoulders moving up and down at his eyes taking her all in. "I can tell-," Leaning in, he gave the typical look as if he was going to tell her a secret. "You still have your soul intact." Leaning back, another drink, he settled himself in his spot and shoved his spare hand into his pocket. "Honestly though- very lovely, high class and all of that. Probably should stop talking about you and talk about the party." At times, Robert was smooth as smooth can be. This just so happened to be one of those times.
