Could it be? A SKETCH??? Not only have I barely picked up my sketchbook this year, what makes this really astounding is that it was done on my lunch break (okay and throughout my last two work days) with absolutely no reference images. I’ve never done a sketch of anything without some kind of reference. Especially people. Honestly I am sort of stupidly proud of how this turned out. 😊💙❄️

I am traveling this week! It feels so strange, but I’m out on medical leave with a rib injury, and after two weeks of self-quarantine got to go see my parents.
On the plane, I read Warm Bodies by Isaac Marion, a book that completely passed me by for the past decade, and I LOVE IT SO MUCH. I would protect R with my life. I got to my parents, opened my laptop, immediately bought the other three books in the series from the author’s website, and then sat down and scribbled out this stylized little R.
The prose in this book is SO GORGEOUS? I dream of being able to write like this. Could not resist jotting down the quote as well. ALSO!! If any of you are interested, I recently created a bookstagram/artstagram account? It’s a combination of book recs and bookish art and I’m enjoying it immensely. (Though all my followers so far are either friends or seem to have followed me because I have a Dalmatian puppy in my icon photo...) But anyway, if you’d like to follow me there, I am breakaway_71!
The Timekeeper trilogy has been my only joy in life this week. I finished my Firestarter re-read via audiobook at work yesterday, and then came home and allowed some rare sketching to happen. I did fanart! Actual fanart! Anyway, if y’all haven’t read the Tmekeeper books I’m not super what you’re waiting for, because HISTORIC GAY STEAMPUNK ROMANCE, okay, these books are wonderful in all kinds of lovely ways.
