Season 3 could have been amazing. It wasn’t. We can guess why given all the things. But I have read amazing fanfic that brought this to a really successful close on AO3, and I think we should all just go read that. Pratchett is the one whose works said you make things real by believing in them (and Crowley does this in book and S1). So let’s do that. I believe the better ending. And I’ll go back and watch S1, which was the best, and think fondly of a better way.
Most upsetting of all is that the end takes away the point of the book—the magic of belief and the free will of individual people.
