You’re thinking of YOURSELF.
Which is fine, and normal, and to be expected.
The Nintendo Switch was/is, in a world that is constantly becoming more hostile towards kids, a device that was mostly/primarily designed with kids in mind.
It’s why the Switch Lite exists and sold as well as it did too. They realized that the OG Switch was too big and heavy for most kids to hold.
Now the Switch 2 is EVEN BIGGER than the OG Switch which was already too big for most kids.
That’s a huge problem for anyone who has small hands, not to mention the weight of the device will make it hard for longer play time.
The Switch 2 seems to be the same size as the ROG ALLY, Asus’s answer to the Steam Deck.
Both the Ally and Steam Deck are HEAVY and HUGE compared to the OG Switch which means the Switch 2 will be the same problem for people who cannot handle a device that large.
The benefit of making a smaller device is that you can ADD to it to make it bigger, case in point with the OG Switch:
But if you make a BIG device you cannot somehow magically make it SMALLER to be accessible.
And if you’re saying “BUT WHAT ABOUT SCREEN SIZE” - wrong again. People have gotten used to using small screens to play games since the OG iPhone. Game’s like Genshin have a majority of their players using phones to enjoy their game, same with Fortnite.
Accessibility is, was, and always should be the most important thing when building new tech.
Switch 2 being bigger is going to fucking absolutely SUCK for kids and people with smaller hands.
Meanwhile players with larger hands have a multitude of accessibility options available to them for small devices, but big devices cannot accommodate.
No offense to you, but I’m absolutely 100000% correct and I have market research, data, and nearly 20 years of gaming industry experience to prove you wrong.
