This is the same thing over and over again. Palestinians die every day, but it gets a lukewarm headline from mainstream media because death and destruction is inherent to Arabness. Then an aid convoy with white workers is obliterated, and now both the president of the United States and the president of Israel are making statements apologizing for “the poor protection of aid workers.” At one point we were seeing multiple reports a day of paramedics from the Palestine Red Crescent Society dying, but nothing. Crickets. Because they don’t care. And even in these “remorseful statements” there is a strategic reminder that white lives hold more weight than brown lives.

nothing about anyone's biological sex makes them a good or bad person. but people are socialized differently based on what their perceived gender is. we live in a patriarchal, misogynistic society, so all of us internalize those ideas and messages. there are good men who have done the work of confronting those internalized biases and make the effort to act/speak out against misogyny, and there are a LOT of men who haven't. there isn't a single female-bodied person i know who has never been harassed or abused by a man. that doesn't mean every single man is an abusive piece of shit, but enough of them are that every female person has experienced some form of gendered violence. so i think women should be allowed to complain about the way men treat us however we want tbh. no amount of "men are trash" posts are ever gonna hurt men as much as they've hurt women
