What do tlyou think of the Mechromancer's Anarchy tree? I'm trying it for the first time and its a hard tree to master. I'm using shotguns and rocket launchers so I don't accidentally reload and loose my stack of anarchy. Any other tips?
Gr33d: Ah man, it is a tricky tree to get the handle on, especially starting out. I kinda procrastinated on using that tree for a while because I wanted to build up Gaige a little more before going into Anarchy guns blazing. Idk if I can offer much since I’m still rather new on the tree myself, but I can tell you certain quirks I learned that helps me manage Anarchy.
DO NOT USE TEDIORE GUNS. It makes the urge to prematurely reload intensify and loose your Anarchy stacks because throwing those suckers everywhere is too damn fun.
If you invest in a fast weapon swap, use it to your advantage. Whenever I try to pick up a gun or money on the ground, she will try to prematurely reload instead of picking up the item itself. If you’re fast enough, you can swap to another gun before she finishes reloading and you will still have your stacks. It’s a little tricky if your reflexes aren’t as fast enough, so time it right.
Get mods or relics that increase your magazine size. In order to continue the Anarchy tree, you have to use the smaller, lighter, faster skill, which will decrease your magazine size. I don’t like having a small magazine size, I live off having a large magazine size. If you pair a mod or relic like this with a Bandit weapon, it will give you less opportunity to reload and your magazine size will be decent.
Speaking of Bandit weapons, use those as much as you can. Bandit is known for their large magazine size, and doesn’t make me think I need to reload soon. Going into smaller, lighter, faster skill won’t affect the mag too drastically. I also tend to use Vladof whenever possible. The low recoil helps with whatever accuracy I have left, and fast fire rate helps me go through the magazine quickly.
If you have less than 15 bullets left in your mag, waste them. Shoot at the air, the walls, whatever. This won’t lose your stacks. I invested heavily in the “Best Friends Forever” tree where she can regenerate health when her magazine is full (cooking up trouble), so I waste the few remaining bullets in her mag so she can reload on her own, and regenerate health. Which brings me to another quirk I learned.
Try to invest in certain sections of the other trees before going completely into Anarchy. I said earlier I use “cooking up trouble” skill in “Best Friends Forever” tree. I prefer using the benefits in that tree specifically. Some of the skills that help me manage Anarchy are: Close Enough, Cooking Up Trouble, and The Better Half. If you have a habit of shooting too close, invest in the shield recharge and shield increase capacity too. If you get hit by your own bullet, it won’t hurt as much.
Of course these are just quirks I found on my own to handle Anarchy better then I did starting out. Our play styles may differ, so it’s sometimes just best, when starting out anarchy, to do what you want, take the risk of losing stacks and then make a mental notes of what to do and not do to suit your play style.
