Im in the car on my way to work. I’ve got a job as a barista at the coffee shop that’s about 20 minutes from where i live. “ well to get your mind off of things i was thinking maybe we go out tonight. I’ve got two tickets for a local band called ‘ Linzy and the midnight preachers’. They haven’t announced whos gonna be playing with them yet but it should be exciting.” I smile. “Yeah why not what time?” “ it starts at 9 so like 830 is when ill pick you up?” “ that works. We close at 5 so ill have about 2 and half hours to get ready.” “ cool.”
The day ends up going by decently fast with the usual morning rush and the regulars who come in for a drink while they work or study. By the time 5 rolls around Janice and i are cleaning up and getting the place closed down. As im walking to my car Janice yells “ see ya bitch! Be ready when i come to get you.” “ later hoe. Don’t be late.” We get in our cars and leave.I’ve got about two and a half hours to get ready. I get into my house and get all of my hair and makeup products together before going to shower.
It’s now 750 and i feel so refreshed now that I have taken a shower and done my hair and makeup. Only issue is im not sure what to wear. After digging in my closet for a bit i finally find a perfect outfit. I decide on a black mini skirt with a dark purple lace tank top and some black fishnets along with my docs. Beep. Beep. Janice is here. I walk downstairs and open the front door. “Hey hottie. Looking good.” “ thank you.” I twirl showing off my outfit. “ you dont look so bad yourself.” Thank you. Now lets get going. We’ve got some fake IDs to put to use to get us some drinks.” We giggle as we run off to Janices car.

The song ends and Linzy begins speaking.” Thank you everyone we are linzy and the midnight preachers. Come meet us after the show.” The girls blow kisses to the crowd and walk off of the stage. Once they’re off a techie for the new band comes on stage and begins setting up for them.
“ im gonna go get another drink.” I tell Janice. “Okay.” I walk over to the bar to order. “ what can i get ya pretty lady.” “ just a vodka lemonade please.” “Sure thing.” I get my drink and head back o the crowd. As im almost back to my spot at the barricade get stopped by Janice. “Hey so i think maybe we should sit this one out. Go to another bar.” I laugh moving her hangs off my shoulder. “ why what’s so bad about…” there it is plastered on the head of the drums. ‘Sunset Curve’. No fucking way.
“We can leave if you want or we can..” Janice shrugs. “Stay?” I nod. “You know what lets stay i wanna see the look on his dumb face when he sees me” “thats my girl.” We go back to our spot and before we know it the boys are walking on stage. Alex is the first to see me smiling as he aves. I smile and wave back at him. I really can’t hold too much against the other guys honestly. But Luke, thats different. He crowd starts cheering as the boys get in their spots to start playing. “What’s up. As you may know we are Sunset Curve. They continue playing more songs including ones I’ve never even heard which consists of songs made after their demo. The whole time Ike was playing e kept locking eyes with me no mater how hard i kept trying to avoid contact. And as much as I hate to admit it i kept getting lost in his stupid , beautiful, blue eyes. They just played a song called ‘amnesia’ that I can’t help but feel is about Luke and I.
“Alright everyone were gonna keep things slow for this ext song. This is a new one hats means a lot to me. This is called ‘just pretend.’” Luke sets his guitar off to the side grabbing the mic off the stand.

He kisses my hand walking back to the middle of the stage. “ girl i think hes still in love with you.” “Yeah maybe.” I dont break my focus off Luke as he continues singing. The song ends. “ thank you all for being here. We are sunset curve.” Reggie leans into his mic. “ tell your friends.” The boys wave goodbye and head backstage. The crowd starts to leave as Janice grabs my shoulders shaking me. “How do you feel?” I laugh lightly. “Less angry more upset.”
Janice opens her mouth to reply then closes it. “Y/N. Haven’t seen you in years hows it been?” I turn around and am face to face with Reggie. “Im good Reg its nice ring you again.” He pulls me into a hug. “There you are Reginald. We’ve been looking for you.” Bobby runs up to us. “Oh hey y/n. Good seeing you.” I nod. “Yeah. I sit in between Bobby and Reggie at the bar. “What do you want to drink?” “Ive already had 2 so I’ll just stick with a water.” “Can we get a water and two shots please?” Reggie orders. The bartender hands the drinks over as the guys take their shots as I sip my water. “Thank you. You know , it’s nice getting to catch up with you guys.” They smile. “Hey you guys wanna..” The voice I know all too well cuts himself off. “Y/N. Uh,hey hi.” “Luke. Hi,how are you?” “Good. Um Reggie , Bobby you mind if Y/N and I go talk?” The two brunettes nod and walk off waving bye to Luke and I.
Luke walks me into a room thats got a fridge , vanity, and a couch with a coffee table. “So you wanna talk then talk.” I cross my arms. Or should i mention how you couldn’t keep your eyes of me the whole time you were on that stage singing your sad pity love heartbreak songs.” “Admit it yo love them.” “ no in fact every time they play on the radio i skip them and every time i see your face on my screen i shut it off.” By now hes towering over me.
