I’m sure Billy Joe Armstrong can’t even login to Twitter on October 1 without a billion fucking comedians tweeting him their oh-so-hilarious “hey wake up September is over!” jokes. Never mind that he wrote that song based on something he told his mother when he was 10 years old and just lost his father to cancer and was suffering a deep depression. Never mind that he’s stated that it was the most personal and difficult song for him to write and perform and that he’s uncomfortable with the jokes. Gotta have our dead memes 🙄
