Message For Holden
Hey Holden,Â
If I was your friend, I would ask you, how are you? They told me you are in a mental facility, I know it may be boring and all, but I think that is the best for you because you are going to be a lot more safe and they will take good care of you, eventually you're going to start feeling better, I'm sure about that!. I do know metal facilities work and are able to cure people , that is why I’m telling you don’t lose hope. Depression is curable, so don’t worry, you won't feel lonely and empty for your whole life, it is just a phase you're going through and there are people supporting you. I do not know, personally, how it is to go through that but if I were to give you advice or a message for you to keep going on It would be the following. Sometimes, life will kick you around, but sooner or later, you'll realize you're not just a survivor, you're a warrior and you're stronger than anything life throws in your way. Many people go through this, it is normal, don't feel that this is a weird thing, because it's not. Life will kick you and throw you, that is how life works, life is testing you, but never ever ever give up, continue your path until you finish it.Â
Sincerely,Â
Ignacia.
Book Review!
Hey, what’s up, blog? Today, finally, I’m going to give a book review! Let’s start by saying that this book is full of controversy and debate, but that’s what makes it such a good book. The Catcher in the Rye is not everyone's favorite book. However, I find it a catching and exciting book with a lot of harsh reality, along with some humor and moments of depression. This novel is about two days in the life of a sixteen year old Holden Caulfield after he has been expelled from prep school. Even Though this book was written in 1951 and it is a classic novel, which many teens find boring, this read has many themes that teens can relate to because the book is centered around a young protagonist in his 16–17 years. I find Holden Caufield a very interesting character; I liked getting to know what was going through his head, and I kind of understood everything that was going on with him in his teenage years because I am a teenager too and I could in some way relate to him. This novel uses obscene language, which makes it a book for people over 15 years old. It also makes this book different from others, the use of frequent profanity makes the characters seem more real. The use of an unreliable narrator is used so perfectly, that you are really not sure if you can trust Holden or not. It also represents perfectly what depression can do to you and how you start staying away from people or how you don’t feel excited for anything anymore. Overall, I think this book has been a success because of how well it describes the issues that someone goes through in their teenage years and the concern of growing up to being an adult, which is, I think, scary for most teenagers. I feel like this book was ahead of its time because it deviated from traditional themes applied in that era, giving it a modernist air. As for the controversy that this novel receives, this may be due to the use of negative thoughts instead of optimism.
Preserve Innocence of kids
. . . "I’m standing on the edge of some crazy cliff. What I have to do, I have to catch everybody if they start to go over the cliff—I mean if they’re running and they don’t look where they’re going I have to come out from somewhere and catch them. That’s all I’d do all day. I’d just be the catcher in the rye and all"
Catcher In The Rye,

The author of the Catcher In The Rye.
J.D. Salinger
Letter to J.D Salinger
Dear J.D Salinger:
Today I wanted to talk about “Catcher In The Rye”, a book written by you. First I am going to start by saying that the book is really interesting to read but very repetitive since you tell every little detail that goes through Holden’s head. Even though this has to do because of the style of writing, I did not like that aspect of the book. Secondly, I personally think as a teenager that many adolescents are able to relate with the themes and I think they can relate because the book abroads themes such as rebellion, identity and independence, and well other secondary themes such as jealousy, loneliness and so on.Â
I would recommend your book because it is very appealing and relatable. One thing to remember is that people should read “The Catcher In The Rye” before being an adult otherwise they will have the urge to punish Holden for his unintelligent actions.Â
Sincerely,Â
Sofia.
A theme from the book: Inaction
Hey, how are you doing, blog? Well today I’m going to talk about a theme present in the book that is not so talked about and this is Inaction. This is a theme in the book because one of the biggest issues holding Holden back is his persistent inability to take action. Holden’s inaction reveals a failure to move past pain and forward to a future that is more strong. Holden in almost all of the book is unable to let go of his dead brother and all of the memories they made. For example, in chapter 5, when Holden struggles to let go of a snowball that he has made, his inability to let go of Allies memories is reflected. And instead of throwing it he keeps adding more snow to make it more dense and firm, reflecting the idea that instead of continuing with life after Allie's death, he still can’t let him go. On the other hand, Holden's inaction relates to his fear of the future, since he is scared of becoming an adult, because they are full of rules and they become phony. This is why Holden doesn’t continue growing up and he keeps repeating everything all over again.Â
A symbol from the book: The Profane (disrespectful) Graffiti
Hey blog! So today I wanted to talk about a symbol I found out in the book, well, while I was reading I found this scene where Holden goes to Phoebe school and he is shocked to see "F&^* You" written on the walls of the school and he tries to rub it out with his hands so the kids at the school won’t be able to see it and he starts wondering what that means. Later on, he finds it written in another part of the school and then again at the museum of Natural History. Well, then I started wondering what could the profane graffiti in the wall and the action of Holden trying to rub it out mean, cause it was obviously a symbol, and then I got to the conclusion that maybe that graffiti written in many walls that Holden wanted to erase could represent Holden’s inability to prevent the loss of innocence in others, this is because when he was trying to prevent kiddos to see it and he couldn’t make it, this is trying to say to us that maybe Holden can’t preserve children’s innocence and that he is not capable of doing it. This is the symbol that captured my attention the most, because there is obviously so much more.
The catcher in rye is a classic, I mean EVERYBODY knows it. I saw in chapter 22 this INCREDIBLE phrase that Holden tells to Phoebe how was it called? OH yes “Catcher in the Rye” well this means um for me that he Holden wants to preserve the innocence of childhood of the kids, this has a DEEP DEEP meaning and there is more interpretations OBVIOUSLY. Holden remembers this sentence from a song and then he starts imagining he is the catcher and that he is preventing kids from falling down a cliff and the cliff would be adulthood. WHAT IS WRONG WITH ADULTHOOD? Oh yea I remember now, my mind literally went BLANK, where was I? Oh yes so well for Holden adulthood is a world of superficiality and hypocrisy this means that what they say is not what they do which is true if you think about it meanwhile childhood is a world of innocence, curiosity and honesty for me when you're a kid you are kind of living in your own world you just live the moment.
Well the ducks in central park you know the ones that Holden goes see represent the fear of change which has to do with the catcher in the rye phrase because Holden is scared of growing up and being an adult and well that is what he is trying to prevent kiddos from.

Opinion of the book
Hey, what’s up, blog? I wanted to talk about the book I just read! I just wanted to say the book is so damn interesting, I literally finished the f*cking book like in one day. What I didn’t like was that the book was so repetitive, why the hell does the author need to tell every single detail that goes through Holden’s head, yea, I know it has to do with the writing style, obviously, but that is something that bothered me a lot ya know. Well, overall I think many teens were able to relate to the themes in the book, such as rebellion, identity and independence, I think they relate to them cause that’s what most teens live everyday, including me, damn I related to it. I would recommend the book because it is hell of a catching book!, but remember to read the book before you’re an adult, you know, or else you will have the urge to slap Holden’s face for his stupid actions!.
Just finished the book! So good! This is how I imagine Holden Caufield
Hey, what’s up, blog? My name is Ignacia, and I’m 15 years old. I lived a typical childhood, going to school and participating in sports, and I also studied. So, here's the story I wanted to tell: When I was ten years old, my parents told me they were going to have separate houses; my father was going to buy another house and live in it, while my mother, brother, and I would stay in our current house. Then a bunch of ideas were being discussed, such as how my brother and I would be able to go visit my father every weekend or how my father would visit us on weekdays to take us to school. I wasn't sure what was going on, but I liked those ideas. I noticed my mom was trying to cheer us up, and she and my dad were crying a little bit. I wasn't sure why they were crying, but I just kept listening to those ideas, such as: that we were gonna have two houses and that we were gonna be able to decorate the two houses and so on it goes, finally they ended up taking us to eat at a restaurant, it was great eating there because we never go to eat outside, I don’t know why we went to eat there, but I liked it. I still can’t understand what was happening then, but I know I don’t see my dad every day as I used to.Â
I just bought the book! Be right back, I'm going to read it!
