Be natural
Lately I felt a very strong need to connect with nature and my very bare self. Today I wanted to share some “natural” things to do or ways to connect to nature for healthier and happier life:
Have no-make up days -Wearing make up is fun but not wearing it is also fun! Sometimes you should let that skin breathe a little
Reduce the amount of products in your skin care -I think you should use only things your skin needs help with. Don’t use products just because they are supposed to make your skin more glowy or more something… Using products you don’t need makes your skin lazy and when you stop using said product it will get worse. Don’t fix things that don’t need fixing.
Eat some un-processed food -Just eat some apples or nuts! They are good for you.
Drink just water sometimes -No tea, no juice. Just water.
Walk barefoot, or even better… be naked
Let your hair dry naturally after washing
Listen to your body -Your body tells you what it needs, take your time to fulfill the needs. Drink when you’re thirsty, eat when you’re hungry and sleep when you’re tired
Sit and do nothing -Do it. Just for 5 minutes. I don’t want you to meditate or focus on anything. Just go sit somewhere. Empty handed
Spend time in nature -This one is quite obvious
Dig in dirt -Go and plant something, weed the garden or build a tiny house in the park out of twigs. Just play with nature a little
Move in a way you want to -Feel the urge to jump? Run? Stretch? Dance?

How to start!
Make some coffee/ tea / snack.
Instead of spending hours procrastinating on your phone, watch a motivational video while you eat.
Tidy your study space, get rid of dishes, mugs and anything that isn´t study related. Leave your glass of water.
Go wash your face with cold water.
Check time.
Turn off your phone and computer. If your study material is there, turn the wifi off.
Study.
Take a short break. (Go to the toilet, refill your glass, stretch, open a window, listen to music, talk to someone, call your mom, etc)
Follow this sequence four times.
Take a long break. (Get another snack, watch a motivational video, go on a short walk, read a book, do some yoga, take a shower, go outside, doodle, post something on tumblr, take a nap or whatever you´d like to do. DO NOT WATCH A TV SHOW YOU ARE NOT GOING TO STOP AND YOU KNOW IT PUNK. Also, make it so that your break doesn´t last longer that 25 minutes, don´t waste precious time)
Go back, keep studying.

My own autumn journal: I met up with some friends today and we went for a big walk around Nunhead Cemetery, bought plants at the nursery nearby and had a pub roast. This evening some friends we haven’t seen in a while are bringing a board game around for a games night. Sundays are such magic

I’ve been super busy lately and I’m finally having an entire day to dedicate to my thesis. I’ve made quite a bit of progress today! And I’m hoping to do more by the time I go to bed tonight. I went to the gym this morning while reading Zola, I’m hoping to finish this book by the end of the week.

6 Steps to Accepting Yourself
1. Accept that everybody makes mistakes. It’s part of learning, and the main way we grow.
2. Accept your body as it gives you life. Choose to love and to nourish it. Also, every single body is different and unique. So, choose to find and focus on those features you love most.
3. Accept that you can’t change what happened in the past. But that was then – and this is now – so look to the future, and let go of the past.
4. Accept that others can think what they like – and sometimes their opinions will be hurtful and wrong. But they don’t know your story – and their judgments may be false – so ignore what they are saying, and get on with your own life.
5. Accept that your life is your responsibility. Your thoughts, opinions, and what you say and you do. And be aware of the consequences of those, too.
6. Accept where you’re at in your journey in life. Be patient, understanding, and kind to yourself.

Final proofreading of this journal before it is published. I also came up with a title last weekend and it feels right, like it’s all finally coming together. I’m going to miss being a co-editor and spending so much time thinking about the Mediterranean (!) but mostly I am looking forward to being able to share this work at last 🌝
