this also wasn't proofread.. bare with me
ok this might turn into a bit of romance... but its mostly a sad thing. riki has a little thing for her. is that bad...
i felt so disgusting writing a certain part of this, the readers will probably feel worse. I wanted this story to reflect the true realities of life and how someones life could be right now.
: ̗̀➛tw: abuse, mentions of abuse, sh, sa, mentions of ed/ heavily implied Ed. did I mention Ed?
: ̗̀➛ if ed is a trigger topic to you, or if any of this might cause you to relapse DO.NOT. READ!!! I promise its not worth the harm, I don't know how much more I can emphasize that. in fact i would say mdni in order to not influence bad thoughts. along with sa, this is mentioned in the story.

Not only did he stay by her side like a puppy, but he read her emotions like one as well. Everyday before school, maybe (most likely) on weekends he would wait outside her door, as well. Riki read her mood the moment she stepped out the door. Whether it showed in her eyes or her body language, Riki could tell. Couldn't hide anything from him, really.
It was a Sunday night, usually ones Loreli looks forward to the most, yet also hates the most. Sundays were when her aunt would go grocery shopping, which means food. That was the worst part about it, it means food.
Riki invited her out the house and to the beach, with no intentions to play in the water considering fall was right around the corner. He just wanted to sit and watch the waves with her and talk, get to know her more. So there he stood, leaning against the wall outside of her apartment. Once she stepped out, he read her. Silently, not too obvious.
"hey,"
He said simply, like he always does. everytime he sees her, he says 'hey.' And Loreli always says
"hi."
right back. This time, the faintest hint of a smile tugged at her lips. Riki was happy he bought her out today. When it came to things like these, well, rather anything that has to do with her, he was so easily pleased. it was almost sad.
They started walking down the steps, their steps unknowingly syncing. Riki always slowed his pace to match hers, and has now grown accustomed to it whenever he's around her.
"have you eaten today?... I know you don't eat past 5, but, its only 3."
he knew how she was with food. When he first laid eyes on her, he thought she was skinny. But after hearing everything with her aunt, he figured her aunt was staring her. But now, he realized it's Loreli who starves herself. If she eats lunch at school, she wont eat anything for the rest of the day at home. He wished he could do something about it, but the thing about RIki is, he over thinks. He believes that if he tries to keep pushing her to eat, he'd be pushing her boundaries and make her upset with him. So, all he did was remind himself to tell her she was beautiful everyday. Whether it sounded casual, or whether it didn't.
"it doesn't have to be much, but.. at least, just a small sando or something."
he coaxed gently, glancing over at her for her reaction as they stepped out of the apartment complex.
Loreli hated when people took her out to eat, even if no one ever did besides Riki. She had no friends. She hated the thought of it.. She took it as people force feeding her, trying to make her fat even if she was far from it. But, for Riki, she wanted to try.
"...just something small." she said, quietly giving in.
Riki felt like he had the whole world in his hand right now. With a small, triumphant smile, he changed routes and walked to the convenience store, they only thing they could afford with their pocket money.
As they walked, Loreli being an overthinker herself, wanted to start the conversation too. Half (if not all) the time Riki, started the conversation. Maybe this once, she could give it a shot.
"....I'm.. glad you invited me to the beach." her voice came out quieter than intended, but Riki's ears perked, and he turned his full attention to her as they walked.
"I've liked the beach since I was little. my dad took me there all the time." the smallest, sad smile came to her lips.
He saw it. Of course he did.
"is it okay for me to ask.. what happened to your mom and dad?"
she glanced at him briefly, then nodded.
"they got divorced. my mom wasn't a good person, so when it came to deciding who would take custody over me, my mom got the vote. But, as you can see, she left me to her sister. my aunt."
for the first time in a while, Loreli didn't stutter. Riki noticed that, too.
"you deserve better." it was cliche, but, he couldn't figure out what else to say. And it was the truth after all. She deserved better.
"when we leave highschool... you'll leave her too, right?"
"I'll be working here soon enough."
her timing was right on point, considering they took a turn into the convenience store just then.
She didn't want to eat a lot, never did. so, she made her way to the aisle she knew best, and picked up some soft boiled eggs. only two, that's probably all she'd get and all she'd want.
Riki knew she wouldn't get much, but at least she got something. He wanted to try subtly giving her food without having her think he was 'sabotaging' her. at checkout, Riki paid for the food without question or hesitation.
"we can eat when we get there."
the walk to the beach was silent. Riki felt honored that she opened up to him more, but at the same time he wish she got a better life. Because he can't fulfill that wish the way he wants to, he'll fulfill it to his greatest extent.
At the beach, he didnt plan to get into the water and figured she wouldnt want to either, so he sat on the sand, having forgotten to bring a blanket.
"Did you want to get in the water?"*He asked, opening his rice cakes and sausages on a stick, taking a bite. Loreli shook her head and opened her soft boiled eggs, taking a bite as well. She was sat next to him, not too close, not too far. Comfortable distance. Comfortable silence.
Throughout the day, Riki probed a bit more about Loreli. She could tell he was trying to get to know more about her, but she gave in nonetheless. she liked when he did that, it felt like someone was actually listening to her. Not just listening so she could shut up after, but to actually listen.
she talked about the things she liked, and surprisingly, she liked a lot of foods. loved them, yet hated them at the same time. And for a moment, just a moment, she started talking about her childhood. When she realized she was over sharing, or.. felt like she was over sharing, she suddenly went quiet. Riki thought maybe he wasn't paying enough attention.
"no, I just.... I don't like sharing too much. can..it..-it might not turn-.. it doesn't always turn out well for me."
Loreli always thought she had an odd stutter. thought something was wrong with her. Why instead of repeating letters, she continuously repeats words? It doesn't make any sense to her. makes her confused. she doesn't understand anything about herself.
Riki didn't mind her stutter. he thought it was okay. he thought she was perfect.
"that's okay." he said simply. "when you're ready to tell me, tell me. if you're not, don't."
even if they've known each other for months, many months, she was still.. secretive? Riki things shes like an onion. because she hides things a lot. He wonders when he'll be able to get.. close. not in the weird way, he didnt like thinking about things like that. always thought it made him dirty. disgusting. he just means close enough for their shoulders to touch when they sit beside each other. or close enough for her to open up more.
that day at the beach felt the calmest Loreli had ever been. that scared her a little bit, because she knew she had something waiting for her at home. whether it be her aunt raising her first with a belt held tightly inside that same fist, or the man her aunt has always been threatening to bring home but never did. Like usual, Riki walked her home, glancing at her continuously. he wished he could stare at her forever.
she knew he was glancing, but she didn't look back, was too nervous.
when they arrived at her apartment, she stood in front of the door, clearly hesitating to get in.
"..knock at the door again? maybe.. maybe in an hour or something. I..I have a feeling something bad might happen to me. I always have that feeling, but...."
she shook her head, stopping herself there.
"please just knock at the door."
Riki believed anything Loreli said. he trusted her intuition with all his heart. he wanted to offer her to stay over at his place for the night, but didnt want to get her into more trouble.
"Okay. sure. I'll sit out here. If anything gets too bad.. just leave. run out. I'll wait for you until you tell me I can leave."
"...thank you."she said quietly and went inside.
Riki sat at the steps next to her door and sat there on his phone, constantly checking his messages.
That night is what Loreli deemed the worst night of her life. Her intuition was right, painfully so. She would rather die then relive it. The man her aunt always threatened to bring home was there. He was actually there. Loreli hated her own people sometimes, the Japanese. The men always had such dirty minds and the women were always bitchy.
The moment she stepped inside, his eyes locked on her, looking her up and down, his eyes lingering on her hips. Lorelis breath was stuck in her throat.
"So this is the famous loreli?" he said mockingly, not moving from where he was yet.
"girls like you are rare, its nice to meet you."
she knew what he meant by that. maybe because all she did was run, she had a fast pace. He was leaning against the hallway walls, and her room door was close. If she makes it, she can lock the door and stay there. With a swallow, loreli ran as fast as she could to her room, and the elder man caught her just as she reached her door and wrapped his arm completely around her waist, using the other hand to cover her mouth in case she'd make any noise. Which she tries, but of course, it was muffled. Tears immediately pricked in her eyes, and all she could do was helplessly squirm.
because she was already underweight, her hits or movements didn't make much of an impact compared to a man decades older than her. He took her to the guest room and removed his hand from her mouth to close the door and lock it. He set her down roughly on the bed and his fingers moved to her pants. she kicked, cried. she felt so helpless.
"Your kicks are cute. But if you make a single fucking sound, I promise you I'll snap your neck."
in her state, or, anybody in her position would believe what he said. So she did. but she didn't stop kicking. As he finally managed to take her pants off, she kicked him relatively hard, and he slapped her. Hard. It has only been 10 minutes.
luckily, he didn't take her panties off. just groped her through them and groped her breast through her bra. His hand movements were rough. she hated every single second. At some point, he put his head on her chest, burrowing between her breast and pinching her inner thighs roughly.
"usually, I'd go for girls who are... well.. bigger." he said lowly.
"but with a face like yours..." he inhaled her scent disgustingly."..I wouldn't care."
"I might seem like the villain to you, but... Loreli, look at you." he squeezed her breast gently. "any man would do this."
he was wrong. horribly wrong.
Riki, feeling something was wrong, knocked on the door. It hadnt even been an hour yet, probably 30 minutes at best. But he felt an hour would've been too long.
the man, letting out a heavy, annoyed sigh, slapped her cunt roughly through her panties and got up.
"Guess I'll stop now. fuck, what a cock-blocker." he muttered under his breath as he detached himself from her, walking out the room and going to the door.
In this moment, loreli wished she proceeded with k1lling herself so much sooner. she wished she wasn't so scared back then. she crawled off the bed, chest heaving, absolutely broken and put her pants on. She stumbled towards the door, in which the man called out to her.
"I don't care who you tell. You enjoyed it, so I wont get in trouble. And your 16, correct? you're the age of consent here." he did what he did knowing he would get away with it in this cruel place. "as long as you don't tell the cops, I'll leave you alone for a little while."
"Slutty body, by the way."
Loreli walked out the door with no shoes on. She stumbled into Riki's arms and cried. she just cried and cried. Riki caught her instinctively and his eyes shot up to try and catch who was behind the door. but it shut before he could. He kicked it firmly once, and immediately turned his attention towards her.
he didn't know what happened, but he didn't want to probe, not right now. He had one hand in her hair and his free hand wrapped around her gently.
"I'm..."he was afraid to say anything in this moment. "..can I take you to my place?"
he didn't want her to stay here. it didn't matter if he was next door, at least she wasn't in her house. between her sobs, she nodded against his chest. He walked to his door, keeping his arms securely around her, and unlocked it and stepped in. He didn't bother to take off his shoes no matter the houses rules, and walked to his room. He sat on his bed whilst holding her, and sat there for what felt like hours, just being there while she cried. he didn't want to move an inch until she stopped crying and was okay.
Loreli had cried so hard her head was pounding. All she can think of is what that man did, the things he said, every touch.
and truly, she cried for an hour. possibly two. until she told herself crying wouldn't fix what just happened. Lifting her head from his chest as her tears slower and came to a halt, she wiped her own tears and finally looked at him in the eyes.
"if... if I tell you what happened.." she sniffled. "will you do something about it to your best extent?" he nodded his head instantly, no hesitation. And with that, loreli explained everything that happened with occasional tears. But this was the one time she wouldnt—couldn't let this slide. she might've let her aunt slide, but not this—not a man.
This was Rikis first time thinking about murdering someone. But as upset as he was, he took a few deep breaths and promised he wouldn't let that man get away with he did. But, first, he wanted to take care of her. He told her he had clothes in his drawers and she could take whatever clothes she wanted, and offered towels for the bath.
"No one will be home today, so don't worry about unexpected guests. But.. I'm going to go do something."
he placed a hesitant hand on her head. softly, trying to reassure her. "help yourself to anything. and please, don't leave the house."
With one last gentle pat, he got up and picked up the metal bat in the corner of his room. He walked out, sliding the door shut softly. He left the apartment and went straight next door to hers. knocking roughly.
This time the man answered, annoyed. As soon as the door opened, riki pushed inside and shut it behind him, aware of the cameras. He swung the metal bat down hard on the mans face. Along with the handle coming down on his nose. He didn't let up for a moment, get swinging at him without giving him a moment to fight back. Once he fell to the ground, he threw hits down on his body, stomped on his balls. His bloodline shouldn't continue.
Getting him in a top mount, he punched his face over..and over.. and over until he drew blood.
"Should've killed your ass."
he said exasperatedly. His knuckles bled as he got up, spitting on the mans face as he lied there unconscious. He wiped the blood off his bat with the mans clothes, and walked out the door, going back to his apartment. By the time he came back, Loreli had just finished showering. he was gone for.. probably 30 minutes. he hoped she didn't scrub her skin raw to get rid of... that feeling.
Riki went back to his room and set the bat back down, sitting down on the edge of his bed, chest heaving. Part of him wishes he knocked sooner. Called the cops. But deep down he knew the cops wouldn't give a damn, truly. not where they were. Hell, maybe cops were just as bad.
Even if he practically beat that guy to a pulp, he felt like he didn't do enough. He should've done more. should've tortured him instead so he could get a real feeling of what helplessness is. Should've shaved his head, put him in a hospital bed for months so he has time to think about what he just did like a baby, give him time out. Enveloped in his thoughts, he didn't hear the bathroom door opening as she stepped out in his clothes that very much enveloped her. But she felt safe.
She walked inside the room, to which Riki didn't hear either. He was spacing out. She noticed his bloody knuckles and looked back at his face. "Riki?" she called, her voice hoarse from the crying.
"Yes? sorry... I was.. thinking about something." her voice snapped him out of his thoughts. He saw how big his clothes looked on her and wanted to smile, but in this moment, he couldn't. He couldn't even feel the sting on his knuckles.
"what did you do?.. your knuckles are bleeding." part of her knew what he did, but she figured asking to confirm was better.
"I just.... beat 'em up." he sounded dissatisfied. "Used my bat, spat on his face... but it didn't feel like enough." he ran his fingers through his disheveled hair.
Loreli wanted to smile, but she, too, didn't have the energy to. "thank you."
"I'm glad... you did what I couldn't." her eyes started to burn again, and all she could do was sigh. unlike her usual self, she felt so clingy and in need for comfort, it pained her. But she knew that after something so... disgusting, she has every right to need comfort from the one person who was there for her when no one else was.
She pressed the top of her head to his shoulder, a tear falling from her eye. she wiped another one away quickly before it could fall.
"please don't leave." she whispered ever so quietly, and his heart pierced.
"I wont. I promise." His clothes had a bit of blood on them, and because she just took a shower, he didn't want to get too close to her. but he stayed to reassure her he would be there until she lifted he head and laid down.
He briefly but quickly went to shower and change his clothes before returning to bed. Figuring she needed her space, he laid a tatami mat and a pillow down on the floor and laid down on it with a pillow.
"You're sleeping on the floor?"she sounded almost disappointed.
her response was barely audible, but his ears picked up on it. He got up from the floor and laid beside her like she wanted, but kept just the right amount of space and his hands to himself. he didn't want to make a move she didnt want him to make.
in her sleep, she shifted slightly and leaned her head against his shoulder. By then, he was still awake, overthinking. But he knew by that unconscious gesture, she felt safe. He wanted nothing more than for her to feel that she could trust him.
he was finally able to fall asleep, content with the position. He didn't know how things would be from here on out, but he knew he would focus solely on her. Because to him, nothing else mattered.
ive cracked my fingers at least ten times typing this. I honestly don't think I'll make a part 3 because maybe this ending is good how it is.....? if whoever reads this wants a part three, I'll just take it a oneshot or something
