HELLO TUMBLR. Our game Night In The Woods is out in the fall! The good folks at Polygon took a look at our recent E3 demo, which is comprised of a constrained, in-progress snippet of an early part of the game with things rearranged a bit and a lot of stuff closed off. Also they missed like all kinds of stuff while playing! It’s big!

Hey everyone! We are so, so, so excited to announce that Night In The Woods is going to be at PAX East, courtesy of the nice folks at Indie Megabooth!

For the uninitiated, Night In The Woods is an adventure game with a focus on exploration and story, and a cast of characters you should really get to know. You’ll be doing a lot of running around, jumping from roof to roof, and doing all kinds of stuff with your hometown friends.

Mae is a a 20-something who just dropped out of college and is coming home to the crumbling former mining town of Possum Springs in hopes of recapturing her aimless youth. But things are changing and the friends she left behind are growing up and moving on. The leaves are falling, the days are getting shorter, and strange things are happening. Come join Mae on a trip through her hometown and into the dark on the other side.

So Night In The Woods is out this fall which makes this one of the last chances to play our game like it’s meant to be played: in a large crowded room with lots of people lined up behind you watching. But that’s a good thing- you’ll have lots of people RIGHT THERE to talk to about it after you’re done playing. Also there’s not a whole lot of others ways to play the game until this fall, so there’s that. Also, did I mention the dev team will be there? And that we’ll have tshirts and other stuff for sale? Seriously this is going to be great.

You will be able to play Night In The Woods at booth #6 inside the Indie Megaboth April 22nd-24th. Come by, explore Possum Springs, say hi, trade hugs and high-fives, generally have a rad time. We look forward to meeting you!

Trailer for Late Night Work Club project #2 STRANGERS

about something I totally suppport. Unfortunately, I was late to the backer boat and won’t know anything about Night in the Woods until it’s released. I think there’s about three hidden updates on Kickstarter, yet no one seems to know what they are.

Anyway.

To your concern and to anyone who shares it- we do monthly updates for backers. We’re pretty clockwork. It’s mostly what specific things we were working on that month, what’s going on in our lives, progress reports, pictures of work in progress stuff, just chatting with our awesome backers, etc. Things we don’t want to share publicly but are part of the backer perks. We aren't really revealing plot things or big spoilers or anything there so you aren’t missing that kind of stuff. We’re keeping quite a lot of what NITW is pretty quiet up until release.

I can understand not having that info can be frustrating, but we do yearly big public updates (here’s the one from October of last year) and we’re pretty up to date on things happening on our twitter, which often also has work in progress stuff.

We've also been releasing smaller games yearly in part so folks have something to play while they wait! Our most recent one was Lost Constellation and people seemed to think it was pretty ok, which makes us happy.

A more succinct sum-up: things are going well! We’re working hard! There’s a lot of info we purposely aren’t releasing! Thanks so much for caring about our little game!
