Although I wish that the story could have continued on, I’m glad that it went out strong like Sam instead of lingering like some tragic simulacrum of what it once was. Maybe I’m just getting old, but I’d rather see an amazing story end in an intentional way, with a little space left for me to keep playing on my own. I don’t want a sequel to Contact or The Good Place, ya kno?
For sure, but i would say the story is only half complete in my mind. The ending of season 1 is just a part of these characters lives, nothing is truly "happily ever after". But we intentionally wanted that to work both ways for season one in the event we didn't get a chance to keep going. Guess it worked!
