ive been forcing myself to comply with a set of standards that i will never be able to meet at all. over my time on the internet, ive spent most of it having to pretend i care at all about meaningless discourse for the sake of covering my ass and i decided that this year, i would stop.

its been making me miserable. ive hated it and i hate who i became to make other people like me. constantly feeling like all my behavior is being observed and scrutinized because what if i like the wrong thing the wrong way? what if people find out that i ship the wrong characters together? its all so ridiculous putting it into words like that and in retrospect i shouldve just been friends with people who didnt care anyways, but i felt i didnt have much of a choice after what happened in 2021.

im letting myself be and ive stopped lying to myself and others about what i am. im allowing myself to make whatever art i want because its my right.
