the other day I was out omw back home from an appointment and there was this old white man with an anti grimace tattoo... like a picture of grimace the mcdonalds mascot but it was circled in red and crossed out. the whole thing was in full colour but it was faded like he'd had it for a long time. so many interesting people in this world

I love milgram but. good lord was the handling of Mikoto's character inconceivably bad

on the one hand I appreciate that they did the whole Evil Alter thing in a fresh new way treating Mikoto and John (why is his name John also by the way) as Actually separate people and not doing the whole thing where Evil John was the real Mikoto all along. on the other hand the premise of his entire story is literally just "he lived an easy and comfortable life until he got a really hard job at a design company and he was so stressed out that one day he randomly split an alter who went out and killed twelve people and then he woke up and didn't remember anything and was confused when the police showed up at his door"

the more i sit with it the more i'm just. like. it's bad. it's really badly written and handled. I understand why many Japanese fans seem to be resonating with it as a statement about toxic work culture but... It's just really not good at all
