Like idk. IDK!! He made all these games ??? And it’s not like the KH franchise was dead between Kh2->KH3 (like days, BbS and 3D happened in between)

Man I think about FF15’s decade long dev cycle and maybe they really fucked nomura over with what happened with 13 / Nova Crystalis and then pushing Versus to be a mainline game. And I think of the amazing systems Nomura had tried to implement before he got bumped the fuck off only to pop shit like real time action/button mash combat + menu command system and party switching with unique battle mechanics for each player into remake. Like nomura has always been a great combat designer ???

I don’t make my main income from commissions and I never have.

My main income is through work in publishing, ie making graphic novels with publishers. I spent many years building skills and contacts within the UK community comics community until I think I basically hit a ceiling and decided to sign with an american agent, at which point the majority of income has come through stuff she signs me for.

I also have fairly consistent commercial book cover and game key art work, but that was also built from answering open calls with clients or slow relationship building. It also doesn’t account for a huge income for me, as I might do one or two of each a year.

I don’t think that’s really equivalent to the commissions I think you mean (like private commissions from clients online.)
