Billionaires lie. All the time.
Credit card companies will TRY to saddle you with this kind of debt by the way - if ever a loved one dies and you are not co-signed on their credit card, do NOT agree to pay their debt unless you ask a lawyer first if you truly have to.
They will say âdonât you want them to go to the grave without debtâ, they will try to guilt you, they will take advantage of your vulnerability.
Source: when my father died, he had some credit cards that my mom wasnât on that she had no access to. The companies contacted her while she was sorting through the bills and getting a handle on how to run the house alone, badgering her with his credit card debt.
She wasnât liable for any of it, but if she had ever agreed to pay before finding out that she didnât need to, she would have been considered to have taken on his debt and would have HAD to pay it. Itâs slimy, itâs predatory, and itâs entirely legal for them to do this.
Never accept the credit card companyâs word about your obligation to pay anyone elseâs debt, if you donât have access to the card, ask a lawyer before agreeing to anything.
April 7, 2026 - "All you had to do was pay us enough to live, all you had to do was pay us enough to fucking live"
A worker in Ontario, California, USA, set his companyâs warehouse on fire and has a message for the CEO:
âThere goes your inventory. You know we may not get paid enough to fucking live, but these bitches (lighters) dirt cheap. All you had to do was pay us enough to fucking live.â[article]/[video]
I just learned that a lot of vintage perfumes and fragrances were intentionally created to blend well with the ever-present smell of cigarettes, and in specific a lot of iconic ones that are super musky and floral and civet-heavy were intended to compliment the smell of fur coats or even "refresh" that new fur coat smell, which is one of the reasons (besides just shifting preferences and trends) that a lot of them smell really, really bad to modern noses.
I bet there's some stunning genius diva out there right now who meticulously coordinates her Victoria's Secret body mists with her vape flavors.

Y'know, I kinda feel like when you get to the point that the general reaction to hearing about a failed assassination attempt is "Ah man, missed again. Maybe next time." you might be overdue for an impeachment.
Youâll now notice that none of those shovelware mobile game ads never have a Black main character. Youâd think with so many of them this would happen incidentally or even occasionally, but youâd be wrong
Youâll now notice that almost every video game that has character customization will always have the base character be white and use that model for the cover and promos for the game.
Youâll now notice how Ancient Egyptian themed/coded characters 99% of the time are the lightest possible shade of brown.
Itâs imperative that while reading these you imagine me doing a waving hand gesture a lĂĄ Obi Wan Kenobi
Hey @agent47-official , that was really funny đ
Youâll now notice how few Black ppl there are in a galaxy far, far away
So video games are a white person activity. That's what I'm told by the black people I actually interact with every day. 'My kids don't watch no video games. My kids play ball!' so that's your culture. Your culture actively says they don't play video games....yet then you get mad when you're not represented in video games. Imagine if I was like 'man, LeBron James isn't a white guy. What kind of bullshit is this?' You guys are literally pissed off that a community you don't even want to be involved in isn't including you.
I didnât know I was supposed to only like basketball đŤ! Why didnât I get the memo that all Black people donât like video games? No one said anything about that in the last conference đ
Fellow white people did you know there's this cool youtube hack where you go out of your way to watch videos made by Black people. And suddenly your video recommendations will have loads of cool new channels. And then you realise youtube was literally hiding videos made by Black people from you because they assumed you wouldn't be interested

the thing about making statements, for me, is that I am aware that I am always always doing the thing where I inject multiple qualifying phrases into things because I don't want to sound overconfident or like I think I know everything. I am aware that I do this as a result of the outsized amount of social punishment it gets me when I fail to do that and how deeply aversive that is, and I am aware that there are a lot of people (men. largely men) who go through life never worrying about this and never ever experiencing social consequences for sounding "too confident" or "like they know everything," and this does make me extremely angry. it makes me angry that even when I have intentionally put multiple qualifying statements in a post ("I think" "in my experience" "most people" "most of the time" "broadly" "largely" etc the list goes on like you WILL NOT FIND A POST OF MINE WHICH DOES NOT CONTAIN AT LEAST ONE OF THESE,) people will come at me for sounding overconfident or like I think I know everything.
when you have tens of thousands of strangers reading your blog this can result in a large number of aversive interactions of this nature.
and it actually really fucking sucks.
I can't make anyone do anything, but I would like to request that when reading my posts, please stop to notice the qualifying statements. ask yourself how often you see certain types of people adding these to their writing and how often you see certain types of people being punished for doing so insufficiently. like. please notice this. I would really appreciate it. thank you.
if hiphop weren't real its existence would sound like an exceptionally heavy-handed metaphor about racism from a really cringe didactic fantasy novel. yeah the racialized underclass in this society, the one that's constantly derided by the ethnic majority as stupid and anti-intellectual, they have a complex artistic tradition based around improvisational poetry which is sometimes enacted on a competitive basis for dispute resolution. you get judged based on the subtlety of your wordplay and the complexity of your internal rhyme schemes. the dominant group periodically gets mad about how this doesn't count as real art like their own objectively more simplistic music and poetry because sometimes it has swears in it
we give buzzfeed a lot of rightful criticism now that itâs not 2014 but that kristin chirico piece where she photographed herself in various different clothes shop fitting rooms to prove that the lighting in them is precision engineered to give you body dysmorphia still regularly salvages me from the verge of anorexic crisis ten years after its publication
The boulder pushing punishment is iconic. But I think more people should know the reason Sisyphus was punished to begin with, which was for cheating death, twice.
The first time he cheated death, Sisyphus had just angered Zeus by revealing the location of the Asopid Aegina whom Zeus abducted. Which is super valid, fuck Zeus.
Sisyphus knew that Zeus would send the god of death Thanatos after him, so he prepared a trap and trapped Thanatos in the chains meant for him.
After that, nothing on Earth was able to die so long as Thanatos was in chains. Which meant no animals could be sacrificed to the gods. This angered the gods, who made Sisyphus' life so miserable with pain and illness that he would beg for death. And so he released Thanatos.
But then came the second time Sisyphus cheated death. As he was dying, he asked his wife to dump his naked corpse in the middle of the public square. Denied a proper burial, his soul ended up on the far side of the river Styx, unable to cross.
He complained to Hades and Persephone about how his wife disrespected him, and begged them to let him return briefly to the world of the living to scold her and make her bury him properly. They agreed, and Sisyphus returned to life. He then embraced his wife, and refused to return to the Underworld.
It's only when he finally died of old age that he was sent to Tartarus and punished with the boulder.
I don't remember where I've seen it, but I like the interpretation that Sisyphus doesn't have to push the boulder. He can choose to stay in Tartarus and rest. But he was promised that if he managed to push the boulder to the top of the mountain, he'll ascend to Elysium.
And Sisyphus, in his stubbornness and cleverness, refuses to give up on a challenge.
One must indeed imagine Sisyphus happy, planning and scheming about how he'll cheat the gods next.

To everyone who thinks "wow this is so violent, gross" - consider that this happens to multiple REGULAR people every day when they're diagnosed with cancer. Oh, not the shark part, but the having to throw all their worldly resources at the equally rapacious predators of the medical billing and insurance industries or they'll die in pain, drowning or both.
I am dead fucking serious. A serious car accident or a major illness is how a lot of the "working" homeless get that way. They played payment roulette with the wrong bills that subsequently snowballed while they were too sick to work/in the 'donut hole' of spend-down before you qualify for medicaid and lost everything.
Bankrupting 3 billionaires to keep literally hundreds of thousands of people housed, fed and part of the social safety net? yeah. don't threaten ME with a good time.
âtrans men donât experience misogyny because theyâre men thus cannot experience womenâs oppressionâ
I hate to tell you this but even cis men experience misogyny if they step a toe over the line of what our incredibly sexist society sees as âproperâ for a man. You really donât think that a man with interests or expression the world sees as âfemaleâ arenât treated with violence?
âwould you say that of other privileged groups? do you think white people experience racism?â
I mean sometimes they do yeah. I know a white guy with monolid eyes and zero known Asian ancestors and he absolutely experiences anti-Asian racism on a fairly regular basis because people think heâs mixed Asian/white. I know a woman who was told throughout her life that she was Native as an adoptee with no known history or background who experienced incredibly violent amounts of anti-Native racism until she discovered as an adult through DNA test that she is 100% white. I know white people who tan incredibly dark in the summer comparatively that are constantly accused of being mixed race and experiencing racism due to that, usually anti-Mexican racism perpetrated against white people with Greek or Italian ancestors.
Their ability to make it stop by saying âhey, Iâm white actuallyâ only goes as far as the person enacting violence on them is willing to believe them. They still have to live with the trauma and physical scars from the altercations. We live in a racist world and thus there will be violent people who force all others to pass a whiteness test and eliminating or harming the rest.
Got an ask that I just block/deleted but it was basically âso you think cis people experience transphobia!?!?!?!?â and uh
If you think cis butches donât experience both transphobia and misogyny and homophobia for daring to be women who break gender roles while still holding onto their womanhood youâve sorely misunderstood just how bad butches have it in this world sorry. If you donât think cis queens experience transphobia and homophobia and misogyny for daring to be men who break gender roles while being loud and proud about it and still holding onto their manhood then youâve sorely mistaken just how bad they have it in this world as well.
Not to mention all of the cis men who wear dresses and skirts and makeup and nail polish and heels simply because they like them who experience all of these things. All of the cis straight women who simply just exist but something about them doesnât pass societyâs âwoman enoughâ test, leading to them being caught in bathroom bills and sporting rules and being attacked by people who mistake them for being transgender or gay.
Just like how straight people experience homophobia to such a degree that they literally beat their children out of any potential deviance from rigidly upheld gender roles and let politicians make jokes on national TV about how theyâd drown their pre-teen kids if they came out as LGBT. Do you really think a straight kid still figuring themselves out hears that and doesnât internalize that homophobia? Doesnât rigidly hold themselves to some impossible standard so that no one could ever possibly think theyâre gay? You donât think straight teenage boys who maybe donât pass some bullyâs straightness test are getting the shit kicked out of them for âbeing gayâ when, surprise, they arenât? You donât think all those kids being attacked by their priests and coaches and teachers are being told âthis wouldnât have happened if you werenât gayâ when theyâre literally not gay? Do you know how many straight kids had close calls at my school that famously expels all gay kids, because someone made up a believable enough rumor? Do you know how many of them still got their shit kicked in even though administration ultimately decided to let them stay?
All bigotry is violent and all bigotry catches people it doesnât âintendâ to and hurts them as well. It doesnât matter what someoneâs label is, or if they even have one. It matters if the person enacting the violence is doing it because their victim didnât pass whatever âacceptable enoughâ test they didnât know they were being subjected to.
Everyone is at risk. Oppression doesnât care what your label is. Some people are more visible targets than others, and as a result those people are the more common targets. That doesnât mean no one else experiences it.
My first post to reach 2k without people clowning in the notes I feel so proud
