What people don't seem to understand is that if someone writes fiction about something I don't like, people may possibly use this as an excuse to do bad things, which is basically the same as brainwashing them into doing it. Therefore, committing real-world violence harassment and violence against them is morally justified! It's much less bad to perform real world acts of violence and terror than to write about fictional ones.
So, if you think about it, if there's someone who makes problematic content and I harass them into suicide or send them a pipe bomb in the mail, I'm basically a hero.
So in the last few days (as in... yesterday), I found a few Medieval facts that have kind of changed a few things just a tad:
Keep, as to describe the central element of a castle, as in the tower where the castle's lord lived, was only a word that entered the English language in the 16th century, appearing first in 1586. Before that, said towers were called donjons.
The Norman style of castle building; the motte and bailey style, was entirely foreign and different to the Anglo-Saxon burhs to such a degree that they were actually considered oddities.
So what kind of structure did these burhs have, out of curiosity?
It's a very simplified image, but think of it as a walled town:
One of the key things is that, within the burh itself, the local Anglo-Saxon lord, the thegn, would have his own fortified home inside the burh, rather than have it existing outside of the burh.
I love how this post is doing numbers on Tumblr.
Bitches love Medieval architecture and fortification.
“The trouble is that we have a bad habit, encouraged by pedants and sophisticates: considering happiness as something rather stupid. Only pain is intellectual, only evil interesting. This is the treason of the artists; a refusal to admit the banality of evil and the terrible boredom of pain.”

'The very biggest spotty dog that you ever did see.'
Some of the stories are wild.
Hawaii has a goddess with a detachable vagina.
Egypt has some ritual involving a god orgasming into the Nile
Egypt also has Horus getting his uncle pregnant.
Norse mythology has Loki
Yes, the man who gave birth to an octohorse, then Odin used his octohorse grandson as a steed.
The steed was also twice as fast as a normal horse because it had twice as many legs.

The typical American consumes nearly 60 pounds of beef each year. Widely available and easy to prepare, ground beef serves as a grocery main
this counts as using hamburgers to explain the economy

Hi that was a really good tag. Unfortunately you’re also going underwater

One of the main factors of animation and comics having worse art over the years is the idea that "story matters more", when most of these stories aren't even that good because they're made by/for people that barely read and such at communication to begin with. Probably comes from Millenials compensating for the times they thought reading books was boring and maybe how education just didn't do a good job at introducing literature to some kids. Even essay Youtubers and critics have basic readings/summaries of a movie's story and focus more on "the plot" than how a theme or idea is brought accross. And either the demographic or the production are always of a "YA/fandom" group. Always people who at best wrote/read fanfictions online. And maybe the idea of "story matters more than visuals" probably only works as an argument in animation if you have a basic frame of reference (Kids movies/shows or Family Guy) to begin with, when there's lots of creative animated artworks that they overlook.
We can also say that people try to justicy lazy art/animation in the same way people try to defend obesity when using terms like "plus sized". "Actually, the stiff animation with 3/4 angles and bloby anatomy is part of the point, you're just too used to overanimated junk" "Actually, this obese woman with clogged arteries is beautiful, you're just used to false beauty standards set by capitalism and the patriarchy"
A culture that turns flaws into positives, just to make up for the fact it couldn't otherwise fix them.
It bleeds across every metaphorical page. Lost dreams, a theme broken with clenched fists and bitter tears. To be free in an emptiness that you are locked outside. To seek heaven, that a new vessel may make you whole again. To defy the overwhelming force of another's malice. To be eaten by your own creation.
To hate oneself so thoroughly, that you feel you must rend your own body into compliance.
Lost Girl.
u gotta be careful reblogging posts cuz what if you see it drowned in water later
