And here’s the thing: Marxists (as well as Islamic jihadis, with whom they are in an alliance of convenience currently) are very much aware of this reality, and have, in their own twisted way, done well to exploit it. The smokescreen of it being a “worker’s” movement is deliberately meant to hide the fact that its leaders are almost entirely from the class they would call “bourgeois” or “capitalist” if it were anyone other than themselves running it, and because they are ultimately dishonest about their goals being the “liberation” of whatever pet demographic they like to hide behind at any given interval of time, they feel no guilt about recruiting as much of the sociopolitical elite of any society they happen to be attempting to take over as possible while still pretending to be “for the people”. But, of course, once they take over, “for the people” becomes “some people are more equal than others”.

Still cool with socialism mind you, just not the kind the folks east of Germany practiced.
