TAROT Myths✨
⭐️ You cannot buy your own tarot deck. It needs to be gifted. Ugh I find this so stupid. There is literally nothing wrong with buying your own decks. If I were to wait for someone to get me a tarot deck, I would probably never get one lol.
⭐️ Tarot is only used for telling future. Nooo. There are so many ways you can use tarot! It’s so good for learning about yourself, trying to understand others etc.!
⭐️ Reversed cards have always the opposite meaning. In some cases, this is true, but many cards have very similar meaning when they are both upright and reversed. So just check out the meaning and don’t always assume it is the opposite.
⭐️ You cannot read for yourself. I’ve seen this a few times and it makes no sense. You are supposed to learn more about yourself through tarot and how would you do it, if you can’t read for yourself?
⭐️ Tarot answers through evil powers. Definitely not. You are getting answers from your intuition and higher self. Don’t be afraid and just ask your guides and angels to be protected.
⭐️ You can’t let others touch your cards. This is just a preference. Some people don’t like it, others are fine with letting others touch their decks. If you properly cleanse them afterwards, nothing bad will happen.
⭐️ Tarot decks have to be stored in silk/special boxes. You can keep your cards in the box it came it and they are going to be just fine, trust me.
⭐️ You can’t do a reading over phone/online. Yes, you definitely can! I do readings here all the time and there are thousand others who do too! You just have to connect to the questions your client is asking, and then interpret the cards they get.
⭐️ The Death card means actual death. I feel like when most of us started, we were kinda afraid of the death card lol. This card just indicates an ending of some sort. It can actually be pretty positive, because it brings new beginnings.
⭐️ Tarot predictions always come true. This is a very common myth. People believe that when they ask the cards about future, the answer is set in stone. You are getting answers based on your current energy and the future can change anytime with you just taking action. That’s why it is the best to focus on the present to understand the situation rather then trying to predict future.
⭐️ You have to memorize the cards before you start doing readings. Oh no. You need to start doing readings right when you get the cards, so you can learn them by using them! Studying meanings and trying to remember them without actually using the cards is not it.

You Are Not Wrong For Being a Witch
Over the past few months, I have had the great pleasure of being part of a community of witches of all ages, genders, sexualities, methods of practice, and levels of experience. Together we have shared ideas, debated topics, read books, and explored an entire world of magic that we realize every day is more and more expansive than we ever could have imagined even the day before.
Even so, there is discomfort. I have seen so many witches both new “baby” witches and more experienced witches struggle with their identities, and I’m realizing we all do in some way. Whether mainstream religions or even just your parent’s religion is telling you that you are wrong or if the media is telling you are wrong or even if you have suffered under the extremes of people who believe that witches are connected with pure evil and sacrificing babies, you have seen it. Even if you are in the broom closet, you have probably seen things, from both inside and outside the community, that indirectly pull at the foundations of your witchhood and tell you that you are wrong.
You are not wrong.
Of course, witchcraft is not for everyone. I don’t think anyone of us expects it to be. Even something as personal and diverse as magic and the many ways we tie it to our lives and our beliefs don’t match what every person needs. Nothing in the world, except maybe breathing, works the same way for everyone. Not everything can fit into the small sacred space in every person’s heart. Maybe you’ll even find that it isn’t what you need either. Maybe you’ll practice for decades. Maybe you’ll leave and return to that wild call of magic later in life. Maybe you’ll leave and never come back.
None of that is wrong.
No matter what other people tell you about their beliefs about who you are or what you should be within witchcraft or outside of it, you should focus on your own path. If that path takes you toward witchcraft, that’s great. If it takes you away from witchcraft, that’s ok, too. We all grow and change. Lift your chin and point yourself in whatever direction suits you now. You can always change course later.
Growing and changing is not wrong.
As witches specifically, we have a lot to stand up against. We stand up against the Wicked Witch of the West and her green skin and her cackle. We stand up against Sabrina Spellman’s latest trip into Satanism. We stand up against religious ideas that magic is evil. You should not have to stand up against yourself. You should stand up for yourself, for your practice, and for your magic.
Say it with me.
I am a witch.
I am not wrong.
And you are not wrong. You are not wrong for exploring something new. You are not wrong for loving circles and the moon and pretty rocks. You are not wrong for your passion for plants or myths or ancient deities. You are not wrong if you are in the broom closet or out of it. You are not wrong if you practice every day or one a month. You are not wrong for being a witch. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.
Journaling has become a bit of an obsession— I’ll have a video on my channel soon 🙊✨

🥄 Spoonie Witch Tips 🥄
Written by: @teaberrymagic
As a person with chronic pain and fatigue issues, I’ve had to give up a lot of my hobbies. So how do I practice witchcraft when I can often experience too much pain or tiredness to do the things other witches do?
TAKE SHORTCUTS, MAKE MODIFICATIONS
Don’t spend all your spoons trying to do something that is difficult or impossible for you. Modify practices where you can, and eliminate the things that you know are beyond your limits. You don’t have to prove to other people that you can do the same things they’re doing, and your practice is allowed to look however you want or need it to.
MY PERSONAL MODIFICATIONS
So what do I personally modify to make things easier for me with chronic pain?
I never meditate sitting, and I wish it’s something more people modified. If I want to completely relax all the muscles of my body and focus on something like visualization, energy work, astral, etc., I lay down. I find a comfortable place (usually a couch or a bed) and lie there instead of feeling like I have to do the cross legged stereotypical meditation pose, or sit upright in a chair. I’m using my mind, sitting upright just isn’t necessary and lying down takes the pressure off my body.
I never cast with a wand and I generally don’t even lift my arms. I visualize and just look in the direction I need to cast. (I can describe this visualization in another post!)
I use sigils as an energy saving alternative to complicated spells with lots of steps and ingredients. Sigils are simple in execution, the supplies for them are almost always within my reach, and they’re chargeable so on a good day I can make them, and on a bad day I just take them with me. I bring a pocket notebook and pen everywhere I go, so I can make and use sigils whenever necessary.
I use tarot apps if I can’t take my entire deck out.
I sit or lie down as much as I can. I can do kitchen witchcraft on a hot plate sitting on the floor. I lay out a blanket on the ground and pull cards there. I cast a circle around my bed and do spells, rituals, energy work from whatever position is easiest to maintain (sitting, leaning, lying down, etc).
I utilize “passive magic” as much as possible. I leave water out in moonlight to charge without effort and collect it when I have the energy. I create talismans and charms that will keep working throughout the weeks and months afterward. I program spells to activate when I’m low energy. I keep bells and chimes to cleanse my space with just a tap of my finger. I use a diffuser with various scented oils. I turn on a bedroom lamp that lights up different colors for color magic. I burn candles with various scents and correspondences. I keep flowers with certain meanings around my apartment. I make infusions, tinctures, and pickled foods because they require very little prep and mostly a lot of time. Whatever I can do standing, I do sitting or lying down with visualization instead.
GENERAL SUGGESTIONS
💻 Rather than a handwritten grimoire, use a digital one. Typing is lower impact and you can even use speech to text apps if typing is too much. Voice recordings can work for some people too, but I find it difficult to reference past material if I have to listen to a half hour speech every time I want to find something.
📚 If heavy books are too difficult to lift or hold, keep your library on an external hard drive or an e-reader. I hardly have any physical books in my apartment, I have converted most of my collection to an e-reader. Holding and shelving books has become too taxing, so I read everything on my laptop, e-reader, or phone.
🕯️ If the upkeep of a physical altar is too much, keep a digital, paper, or pocket altar. Lighter and candle apps are a great (and budget friendly) alternative to keeping a huge collection of candles for your altar, home, and spells too. I personally keep a few candles for each season and have no designated altar. I just keep things with good energy around my space.
🌱 If you don’t have the energy to take care of plants, keep low energy alternatives like cacti or moss balls. If even those are too much energy, keep plant figures, ceramics, or art instead. Keep an app like Viridi so you can grow and take care of digital plants without even needing to get out of bed.
A PERSPECTIVE CHANGE
Spoonie witchcraft is about creativity, substitutions, and a willingness to define your own boundaries. When you’re dealing with chronic illness and disability, there are things you can’t do or can’t do the same way anymore and it’s not about fighting or forcing yourself to do things the way other people do. Use that awesome brain to come up with workarounds that will allow you to engage with the same intentions in a different way. There’s never one right way to do a spell, so be creative!
Spoonie witches will likely gain skills in meditation, visualization, energy work, and astral abilities more than anything else as many of these can be substitutions or workarounds for other elements in one’s practice. And at the end of the day, every spell ingredient is just a conduit for energy. All you need is yourself for witchcraft and none of those things are necessary.
If anyone has a specific spell or practice they’re having a hard time with due to chronic illness or disability, let me know and I would love to brainstorm ways to modify it with you! Good luck, spoonie witches! 🥄✨
Waters
Hello darlings! Today I really want to talk about magical waters. I’ll start with simple waters, then one ingredient waters, and then composite waters. Waters is pretty much anything like water that is used magically, so it ranges from storm water to tobacco and damiana tincture, and other stuff. Any of these can be collected whenever is convenient, but I added the time to collect them to make them more potent.
Natural Waters
Rain Water:
Rain water can be used for any spell to make it more potent, but it is a useful tool in peace magic, to quell anger, to relax, and for dream magic. Collect whenever you want.
Storm Water:
Storm water can be either protective or offensive. Use it to wash down your doors to protect you from hexes, and wash your tools with it to amplify their power. You can use it in any hexes or curses you want. To amplify it, add rusty nails to it and let turn rusty. Collect on a waxing gibbous moon.
Swamp Water:
Can be used in works for binding, hexing, or cloaking. Use when wanting to cause illness. Annoint yourself with swamp water to make yourself unnoticeable to others. Colelct on the dark moon (second new moon of the month) or on the new moon.
Marsh Water:
Marsh water is almost the same as swamp water, but it is more suitable for cloaking than other things. It can also be used for cleansing negative energies. Colelct on waning crescent moon.
Hail Water:
Hail water is melted hailstones. Use it for protection or hexing. Similar to storm water, but more aggressive. Use when you want to break sojmeone, or when you wish to cause physical harm. Collect during a full moon for best results.
Salt Water:
Salt water can be used for cleansing and protection from negativity. Simply add salt to water.
Sea Water:
Use sea water in works involving the psyche, or in hexing. It can also be used for cleansing. I use it to work with demonic forces as well. Collect on a new moon.
Lake Water:
Lake water is amazing in works concerning emotions, love, memories, or past life regressions. Boil it and drink it to enhance attempts for past life regressions. Collect on waxing moon.
Pond Water:
Use when wanting to bind someone, or to limit their horizons. Keep a flower vase with pond water in it on a table to silence a conversation to those not sitting at it. Collect on a dark moon.
Spring Water:
Spring water is super versatile. Use it instead of tap water.
Dew:
Dew can allow the witch to cast powerful glamours for beauty and youth. It is an important ingredient in love potions. Collect at sunrise during a waxing or full moon.
Self Water:
Fancy word for spit or urine. This one is a little nasty, but it is to be used whenever a spell needs to be tied to the caster.
Simples
Sun Water:
Bask any sort of water in the sun for a full day. Use it for cleansing, to bring positivity into a space, or for glamours of youth.
Moon Water:
Used to power up any spell. Let water sit in the light of a full moon for a full night.
Tobacco Water:
Steep tobacco into water for a week in the fridge. When strained, mix with 100 proof vodka, about 1.5 parts water for 1 part vodka. Use it to cleanse or to offer to spirits when working with them. Can be used to cause addiction in a person.
Saffron Water:
Steep saffron into water and mix 1 part water with 1 part vodka. Use to raise winds by sprinkling it in the air, or rub on your lips before whistling and raising storms.
Rose Water:
Use for love, glamours, and beauty. Steep fresh rose petals in vodka for a period of 4 weeks, and then extract all the liquid from the petals by pressing them until they have lost their color. Cut with 0.5 part water.
Orange Blossom Water:
Use for joy, beauty, cleansing, and sunshine. Prepare in the same way as the rose water.
Lilac Water:
Use lilac water for sleep, dream magic, spirit work, and cleansing. Prepare in the same way you would prepare the other flower waters.
Apple Blossom Water:
Create this by the same manner as the three flower waters above. Use for protection, love, and beauty.
Holly Water:
Holly water is to be used to protect your family. It will prick at intruders, or unwelcomed guests. It will also allow you to always have knoledge of the safety of your family. Simply steep holly leaves in water and mix with vodka. Do not ingest this, as it is poisonous.
Composites
All Bite no Bark Water:
A powerful water used for protection of a space. Mix together storm water, hair of a black dog, dirt of a grave, the ashes of psalm 7, rose thorns, teeth of a canidae, and three holly berries. Pour around a room which you wish to protect, or water protective plants to give their produce an aggressive kick. This water will protect a space with the ferocity of a rabid dog, and will not warn before attacking.
Fiery Wall of Protection Water:
Mix together sun water with three hot peppers, red brick dust, pottasium nitrate (saltpeter), sulfur, and blackthorn pricks. Another like the above, but more passive. Attacker might suffer a rash after encountering it.
Pitch Water:
Use pitch water to stop someone from making any progress. Mix together water from a swamp, gum arabic or acacia, charcoal dust, and chapparal. It can also be used to dissorient. Fair warning, this water is hella sticky.
Fuck Off Water:
Mix together sumac, apple seeds, thorns of a blackberry, cloves and storm water. Use it to repel unwanted people.
Goodbye Lover Water:
Mix together sea water, sumac, cloves, poppy seeds, thorns of a cactus, petals of a hibiscus flower, and saltpeter. Use it to get rid of unwanted courters or lovers, or to make two people break up.
I hope you guys find this useful! Make sure to be careful with any of the potentially dangerous ingredients listed, and put these to good use! Good luck my darlings.

I'm new to learning sigils and I was wondering if you shared how you make your sigils more personal to you!
I haven’t made a post about my method yet, so here it is ! :)
My method has three different steps :
1 - Defining what will be the effect of the sigil
2 - Finding/choosing symbols and/or letters
3 - Designing the sigil
I took some pictures of my sketches for the “I meet/find my familiar” sigil.
Since I wanted it to be about familiars, I tried to make simplified shapes of animals’ paws or bodies. Also, I often include stars, crescent moon or leaves to my sigils because I consider them as symbols of magic.
Then, there is the “designing” part :
I sketch until I’m totally satisfied with the design.
Then, I redraw the final version in my grimoire and I make a digital version for my Tumblr blog.
A good example of how I include letters is my sigil for plants :
The G became the spiral, H and W are fused and so stylized that they are hard to find.
Well, that is a quick overview of how I make my sigils, maybe I’ll do a better tutorial one day. The most important thing about a sigil is that it feels right to you. Plus, like several other witches have written : “don’t underestimate the power of aesthetic”. If you like your design, chances are your sigil is powerful.
My hot tip for today is that sometimes you can do silly, spiritual pagan things because they’re fun and they don’t have to be particularly logical or relevant in any way. You don’t have to believe in everything 100% to do and enjoy things.
Every Samhain my mother leaves a plate of food outside. She says that the ancestors come in the form of raccoons to eat it. When I was little I of course wholeheartedly believe this. Now I think we probably just have a lot of raccoons in the neighboorhood, but that understanding doesn’t detract from the tradition. Suspending my disbelief for just one night to think that the animals I see wandering about are visiting spirits makes Samhain a hell of a lot more spooky and mystical then it would be otherwise. I wouldn’t want to do it any other way.
We don’t touch the garden between Samhain and Yule. The explanation given for this is that anything left outside during this time is food for the fairies and taking it angers them. As I’ve gotten older and learned more about gardening I’ve realized that this is probably an explanation for why we need to let the soil rest, and I certainly don’t think picking a plant in early December is going to cause me any harm, but don’t pick the plants anyways. Leaving the garden alone during the cold months makes tending to the plants that much more enjoyable and special during the hot months, and if my reasoning for why I can’t harvest that very last squash of the fall is fairies then that’s my own business.
Sometimes when I go down to the beach I find strange or out of place things. My explanation for these things is always selkies. In the back of my mind, I’m always aware that there’s probably a much more logical and reasonable explanation for whatever I’m seeing but those reasons usually aren’t quite as interesting, so I say that it’s selkies. And that’s fun. I feel like there’s some unspoken rule that after a certain age you’re not allowed to try and believe the things you’ve imagined, no matter how inconsequential and silly those things are and honestly, that’s boring, I’m not a fan.
The point here is that not all of the things we do in the name of our spirituality and faith need to be serious or even well thought out. Clearly, if you’re doing a ritual or a spell that’s one thing, but there are other fun little ways to make your spirituality more magical and wondrous that are less about what’s actually happening and more about the suspension of disbelief. And those things are wonderful and fun, and they add a little bit of joy to your life.
I meet a lot of witches and pagans who take themselves and their practice very seriously, and well that’s fine to a certain extent I think it can sometimes make your spiritual beliefs feel like a chore. Letting yourself have fun this way can be a really good way to prevent that.
My Daily Witchy Routine:
Since I’m a secret witch a lot of my practice is incorporated into my daily routine. I get a lot of asks on how to do this so here’s some of the ways I do it. Enjoy!
☀️ I wake up fairly early in the morning and meditate in bed for another 5 minutes or so before I get up. I take a few moments to become aware of my body, breathing and surroundings and this helps my mind wake up too. It also gives me a moment of quiet to remember any dreams I had.
☀️ Next I get up and make my bed, using anti-clockwise motions with my hands to smooth out wrinkles in the blankets and banish negativity. Making my bed adds a sense of productivity and sets the pace for the day.
☀️ I check the moon phase on my phone, any events like sabbats etc coming up, and check my witchy (and non-witchy) reminders and to-do list.
☀️ Before breakfast I drink some water to give me a boost and get my metabolism going (I don’t mean to be all ‘uwu drink water’ but it really really helps clear my head because I’m like a zombie in the mornings haha. 11/10 recommend hydration). I also like to trace a sigil on the bottom of my water bottle to recieve protection, happiness or whatever else I like each time I sip.
☀️ Because I don’t have time to cook most mornings I eat cereal, fruit, yogurt, toast and other things I can easily grab. I like to put honey on my cereal for sweetness and happiness and use the correspondences of certain fruits, milk, juice etc to set the intention for the day. Even the corn in cornflakes can be enchanted for your purpose.
☀️ I make tea or coffee if I have time, and the type I choose usually depends on my mood and what I need. If it’s a cold morning and I’m in need of some confidence or luck I’ll make a hot chai with cinnamon. Or if I need a quick cleansing I’ll try some refreshing green tea. A spicy ginger tea perks me up and gets me ready and pumped for a busy day.
☀️ Next I dress using colour magick if I can, focusing on my intent as I put on each item of clothing. I also put on jewellery at this stage, like crystal necklaces and my mundane rings which I like to enchant. I also put on makeup (I enchant my lipgloss for friendship and to speak eloquently and confidently since I’m a bit shy).
☀️ On uni mornings I catch the bus and I like to enchant the coins for my ticket with happiness and luck so that the bus driver and those who get given the coins when they get change have a brighter day.
☀️ During the commute I watch the sunrise and say good morning to the sun while I listen to music. I also might read a little bit or just sit and watch the trees passing by the window as I think. I also use this time to write down and try to interpret any dreams I remember.
☀️ At uni I try to take notes using blue ink (it helps you remember more as opposed to when you write with black ink) and also because it is associated with study and focus. I also have a bookmark I made with knot magick, using colours for organisation, focus and success.
☀️ If the weather is nice I sit outside to eat and soak up the sunshine. I either pack a lunch or buy something from the cafe based on what I feel like and what food correspondences I want.
🌙 Once I get home it’s Tumblr and grimoire time woo! I search tags and research things based on what I want to know more about (perhaps I noticed lots of dandelions or something throughout the day and want to recap on their correspondences) and I take 30 mins or so to edit my grimoire (a messy word doc with over 200 pages, I’m currently re-organising it haha). Because it’s on my laptop, I can write in it easily instead of using a book which might draw suspicion to me.
🌙 Next I’ll do mundane tasks like emails, homework etc. You know how it goes haha.
🌙 In the evening after dinner I take a shower or bath and cleanse the day’s negativity from myself. I can’t really source plants to put in the bath with me easily so I at least take a crystal or two in my pocket to sit near me while I wash.
🌙 Afterwards I wind down with a movie or some anime, reading, grimoire writing and another cup of tea if I feel like it.
🌙 Before I go to sleep I meditate in bed for five minutes or so, thanking my various tools and crystals for their help throughout the day as well as reflecting on the day and thanking the universe for what I’m grateful for. I also wear amethyst for dreamwork and trace a sigil to remember my dreams on my pillowcase.
That’s what a typical day looks like for me! Feel free to take some inspiration from that if you like, and to inbox me for some more tips and ideas. Happy witching! ✨
Small Witchy Things To Do
soooo if you’re like meeee then you spend a lot of your summer with family (which isn’t bad!!) Some families just aren’t very accepting of witches. I generally have to be more discreet about my craft around family so here are some things I do!
Spend more time outside!!! It might seem super super simple but honestly I feel closer to my craft while listening to birds sing and reading a nice book! Maybe you’ll even make friends with a local outdoor cat (I have and omfg she’s so sweeeet! She stops by every day to say hello. Please don’t go about petting random strays!! I know the cat I pet has her shots!!)
Charge your morning drinks to set your intentions for the day! This can be sooooo so so helpful and it’s really easy and family barely notices when I do it. For me it’s as simple as placing a crystal next to a coffee machine and focusing on whatever my intent is as it’s brewing. (I usually use blue goldstone for creativity!! But some other good things to use would be tigers eye and maybe moonstone or canilian.)
Charge your soaps with positive energy! I really love doing this. Many people have a every day skin care routines and adding a little blessing here and there to your face soap is always a good idea!
Compliment nature, your local forest spirits will love it! I’m sure if you say “wow those flowers are pretty!!” no one will find it strange! Forest spirits are incredibly amazing so I try and compliment what they create any chance I get!
Ground yourself as often as you can. Grounding can be as simple as imagining roots under your feet connecting to the ground for me! It’s easy and can make you feel so much more connected.
🌱How I made my magic terrarium 🔮🎀
Hello beautiful witches 💞! Now I want to share with you how I made magic terrarium 🌱.
First at all, I used:
🌹Glass form (I picked simple glass form, later it will be easier to plant your plants)
🌸Drainage ( For my drainage I used a small simple crystals, like quartz, agate, carnelian ans others)
🏵Charcoal
💮Plants substrate ( I used the cheapest one)
🌼 Succulents, Cactus
🌻Moss
🌺Crystals
Step 1
After that, when I choosed a glass form, I started with drainage. For my drainage I used a big stones small crystals. First I put down a big stones (you can find them in the forest or park), then a small crystals (2 centimetres over the surface). They will make my terrarium magic.🔮
Step 2
I have a couple of cockatiels, so I used their coal for my terrarium. Add a coal cover the surface.
Step 3
I added a plants substrate and my succulents.
Step 4
Add moss. Moss you can find everywhere: in park, in forest. Bring a bit moss to your home, and left it for a day. After that day if your moss still looks hod you cam use it for you terrarium.
Step 5
Add crystals or other decor into your terrarium.
Some tipps:
💜Don’t mix succulents and leafy plants. Leafy plants needs more water than succulents.
💛Use a long time growing up plants.
That’s all. Thank you for your attention.
Sorry if my english was bad.
Blessed be!
