what really gets me is that law saw luffy one (1) time in sabaody. crashing into an auction house and punching a celestial dragon. and from there on out he was like 👉 that one. I want him specifically. And continued seeking him out with a sour attitude about it for the next 600 odd episodes or so. and every time he's asked about it his answer is always incredibly evasive like "it was just a spur of the moment thing idk" Nothing to do with reading about luffy in the papers, following all his insane victories taking down established warlords and country figureheads and pre-emptively deciding this kid might just be insane enough to accept a commission to take out his pink evil overlord freak uncle. Nothing to do with law taking on his late adoptive father's weird will of D complex. law doesn't have ambitions or dreams it's just common sense to him. god is dead the government sucks the celestial dragons are becoming more and more like parasites and deserve to be punched in the face every now and again and I just can't figure out how straw hat keeps getting away with it. I feel like the deal with Gaster's door in the 10th Anniversary Livestream isn't a "COPIES ARE MONOCHROME" moment where Toby's copy is the "original" world, its instead "BUT YOU COLORED EACH OF US IN WITH CARE," our love for the fun event and us trying to figure who the "mystery man"/Gaster is is why the door is colored in. It's a reflection of how much the fandom was able to turn this one little secret into something grand.
