Hello my dear followers, my dear companions of tumblr. I'm here to talk about the predatory ship that is dreammare. And about a specific post that i found while scrolling through the dreammare tag for the reason of trying to find rebbloged art of a blog that no longer exists with which im planning to expose an artist that right now is pretending they are not predatory. Now that you know the context of why I was in that tag, and you know I will be talking about dreammare, and so Incest, proship, pedophilia and similar, if you feel uncomfortable with any of this, please leave this post because I will be showing things that made me sick.
To all victims of incest, rape, SA, pedophilia and similar, I wish you better days ahead, and please stay safe. To everyone who isnt a predator, stay safe.
DREAMMARE WARNING UNDER THE CUT.
The reason I'm making this post is, to point out, that behavior like this is extremely predatory. Are you telling me that you see an art of twins and the first thing on your mind is to put them in a sexual scenario together?
Lets start with this.
As someone with two younger siblings that are twins, I feel extremely disturbed by this.
The main issue with Dreammare is, that the 'ship' isnt interesting for people because it's Dream and Nightmare. It's interesting for these kind of people because they are brothers.
Another evidence i have for this is the fact that all of the posts about Dreammare i had to read through due to that one single creator I'm making a doc about, were always specified with the brother titles. More times were used 'brother' 'sibling' or 'twin' than the actual names of these two. And I'm extremely disgusted upon that finding.
Twins have been sexualized in media for a long time. And I repeat, I have twin younger siblings. And imagining someone looking at them and thinking about them being sexual with each other is not borderline predatory, it IS predatory. That's predatory behavior.
It's very clear Dreammare is not just a simple proship that disgusting people use. Predators in this community come together under this one 'ship' to prey upon us. To use harmless art in a disgusting way and to make our experience of this fandom terrible. INCEST IS NOT OKAY. Dreammare, IS NOT OKAY.
Not to even start about people shipping younger Nightmare with older Dream, or switched. Thats just pedophilia and PEDOPHILIA IS NOT OKAY.
And for everyone saying "its fiction. Fiction never hurt anyone. People understand that it's fiction." NO. FICTION IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT FOR PEOPLE TO SHOW AND REPRESENT IMPORTANT THINGS. AND SO, ROMANTICIZING INCEST IS ACTUALLY NORMALIZING IT. IN. THE. REAL. LIFE.
If you want to write/draw/play incest in any way, you need to represent it as the problem it is. Because its a real life problem with thousands of victims that suffered their whole life because of it.
Proshippers, darkshippers especially, do better.
