My partner had an unexpected appendicitis flare this week, so he's recovering from having his appendix removed.

This lesson in choosing to align our actions with our wants, applies to so many different things in life. Look for the opportunities to work on what you asked for. Shift your perspective from passively waiting or watching to actively participating in making what you want, happen.
Hopscotch boards are drawn & left, inviting people to play. No one's forced to. It's always your choice to keep walking or to play through. The Universe operates on this principle too...you'll be invited to participate in your own growth, but you won't be forced to.

I have a very specific, odd thing that's not a usually used phrase in conversation & I use it as a filter. If somebody I'm talking to uses it I immediately know they're not for me.
This is a practical application of listening to your inner voice/ trusting your intuition. If you catch yourself excusing the experience away, that's an inner theme you can focus on in your shadow work around why you aren't trusting yourself. It's good practice to notice whenever you are in contradiction to a sign you specifically asked the universe for.

unfortunately very true. Doing Better does not always mean never being upset or never being triggered or never having trouble. often Doing Better means experiencing those things and being able to keep going/cope healthily/move on. if you’re in a bubble with no sensation, if you’re numbing yourself out, that’s not what recovering really is. it won’t help you have a happier life it’ll just make your world smaller and smaller until you can’t fit anywhere anymore. gotta learn to make peace with the hard stuff too, that’s the only way to keep going

When the melancholy becomes too much, when the sadness threatens to steal your breath, when the anxiety completely hijacked your ability to carry on and pretend there’s nothing wrong even when you’re screaming on the inside…. Write something. Write anything. Write about your day, your life, your worries. Write about your job or a random topic that comes to mind, like the age-old question who would win in a fight… Write your grocery list, for God’s sake. Or if you can function enough to do that, name every food you can think of and write that shit down. Get it all out of your head.
Better yet, tell me a story. Recount me a memory. Our stories, whether real or imagined, are our way to live endless lives from different perspectives, from different places and in different forms. Live the memory or the fantasy through your writing and get out of the bad state that you feel locked into. Writing, creativity is the key to unlocking our minds.

Solid advice. I have a binder of looseleaf exactly for this. It doesn't have to make sense or be meaningful it just has to get out of my head. It's surprising how much that helps. ❤️🩹
