It was going to be a nice, relaxing day off at a beach along the Liyue coast. Just Lumine hanging out with Paimon and some of her friends from Liyue and Mondstadt. Going for a swim, building castles in the sand, not having to think about Archons or commissions or even how she was going to get to Inazuma.
It was going to be a nice day. A relaxing day. A bright, sunny, peaceful day.
But then he showed up.
Lumine was down by the water’s edge, filling a bucket with wet sand to bring back up the beach. She was helping Xiangling and Barbara build a sandcastle big enough to fit Paimon.
A sudden wave of saltwater crashed over her, soaking her completely.
There was only one Hydro user she knew who would do something like this to her.
"Childe! I’m going to kill you!"
Lumine burst to her feet and sprinted after him down the beach, feet slipping momentarily in the sand before she regained her speed.
“Didn’t you already try?” he shouted back as he ran.
“Not hard enough!”
Lumine knew she was at the beach and all, and she had been planning to go for a swim once they finished their sand castle, but it was the principle of the thing. You didn't just dump an entire wave on someone without warning without expecting some retaliation. And this was him, after all. Retaliation was exactly what he wanted.
Lumine cursed Childe and his long legs. At this rate, there was no way she was going to catch up to him. But there was no way she was going to let him get away with this. So she gave herself a little Anemo speed boost.
"Chiiiilde!" She hit him in the back at full force, sending them toppling into the sand together.
Lumine found herself looking down into eyes shining a deeper blue than the ocean next to them... and an irritatingly smug smile. She had landed on top of Childe, body pressed against his. She quickly pushed herself up onto her hands and knees, glaring down at him and forcing herself to ignore his toned, muscular bare chest.
Childe’s physique was…distracting. Sure, they sparred every week, but they had never seen each other in anything other than their everyday attire before. Now that they were both wearing swimsuits - Childe a pair of swim trunks and Lumine a simple white tank top and shorts - it was honestly rather distracting. Not that Lumine had ever wondered what Childe looked like in a swimsuit or anything…
"Hey, Lumi."
Lumine’s glare intensified. “Lumi” was only marginally better than “girlie.”
"What are you doing here?"
"Just thought you could use the company. Can't a guy have a day off at the beach without being pestered with a bunch of questions?"
"That's one question. And you didn't answer it."
"I did answer! I took a day off to hang out at the beach and go fishing. And before you ask me where my fishing gear is, you know for a fact that my inventory’s the same size as yours."
"Fine. I'll let you off easy this time," said Lumine, climbing to her feet and holding out a hand to Childe. She easily pulled the much taller man to his feet with enough force to catch him off guard and almost send him stumbling forward into her.
They quickly realized that they were now coated in sand, and started to brush the coarse grains off themselves. Childe leaned in close and brushed the sand off Lumine’s shoulders. Then he reached up and started to comb through her hair with a gentle hand.
“Ugh, stop that,” said Lumine, pushing him away.
“Hey, I’m just trying to help.”
Lumine reached up and ruffled Childe’s auburn hair. Grains of sand sprinkled everywhere. “There. Now we’re even.”
Childe laughed.
"Want to spar later?" he asked, grinning. Lumine hit him in the shoulder.
"Maybe," she said tentatively. "If you can be nice to my friends."
"Aww, Lumi, I'm always nice."
"Uh-huh." Lumine started to head back up the beach, and Childe followed after, quickly catching up and falling into step beside her. He had to slow his longer stride to keep with her pace.
"Come on, when have I ever not been nice to your friends?"
Lumine sighed. “Last time you hung out with anyone other than me and Paimon, Kaeya and Albedo ended up in solitary confinement with Klee. Also Xiangling almost swore off cooking and Barbara wouldn’t talk to me for a week.”
“Hey, it wasn’t my fault they wanted to go to Dragonspine!”
“It was your suggestion!”
Childe and Lumine were still in the middle of their argument by the time they got back. Xiangling and Barbara had almost completed the sandcastle for Paimon, and the three of them were putting the finishing touches on the castle’s spires. Klee was begging Kaeya and Albedo to let her go fish blasting, but the couple refused to budge. Kaeya was relaxing in the heat of the sun, while Albedo read a book under the shade of an umbrella.
All of them looked up immediately upon Lumine’s return.
“Lord Barbatos protect us,” Barbara muttered, eyes wide as she stared at the pair.
Xiangling and Paimon exchanged disapproving looks.
Kaeya raised an eyebrow, but Lumine swore she saw him wink.
Albedo sighed, shook his head, and went back to reading his book.
“Yay, you brought a new friend for Klee to play with!”

Hate how much A Little Treat has infested me. Any small discomfort and I'm immediately like oooo maybe exchanging money for goods and services will fix this situation.
We have more details about the pre-registration event! You can find them linked on our website. Pre-registration means you can come and pick up your badge/any relevant materials (e.g. your voting token) the evening before, skipping the line.
Pre-Registration
DATE: July 31st, 2026
TIME: 4:00 PM – 8:30 PM
LOCATION: Wilket Creek Park Picnic Area #4, 1000 Eglinton Ave E, North York, ON M4P 1E2
We’ll have a large multicoloured flag with the DashCon 2 logo on it identifying our picnic spot :)
As a reminder, the pre-registration event is a Cosplay Picnic and Little Guy Show-and-Tell.
COSPLAY PICNIC
You are invited to dress up in cosplay and bring snacks/packed lunch to eat on the grass. DashCon 2 will have some pre-packaged fruit and veggie plates for you to sample, but we don’t expect supplies to last, so please bring your own food if you’d like to eat!
LITTLE GUY SHOW AND TELL
In cosplay or not, we encourage bringing a little friend to introduce to folks around! It’s a great conversation starter. Examples of Little Guys include stuffed animals, crochet plushes, rocks with googly eyes—any inanimate object that brings you joy and you want to introduce to other people. Please do not bring live animals.
Con-Going Crash Course
For many of you, DashCon 2 might be your first convention. But even veterans might benefit from the tips & tricks Con-Going Crash Course, an all rounder guide to attending a convention. This video is currently available on our Youtube for you to watch to get an idea of everything you need to know/consider for attending a convention!
An absolutely massive thank you to Cinnacorn and Duskroads for the tremendous amount of time and effort you’ve put into this. Your efforts are greatly appreciated!
Just one more thing.
As some of you may have noticed, although it’s pretty late now, today is July 5th, the official one-year anniversary of DashCon 2.
It hasn’t felt like a year, really—time moves so much faster now.
I’m a different person now that DashCon 2 is in my life. Event planning is my career now. I have new friends, a small but not inconsequential internet presence… and when I go to friends’ weddings, sometimes my reputation precedes me??? Absolutely shocking to get hit with I like your shoelaces completely unironically IRL.
As an organizer, I can never truly attend DashCon 2. That day was a blur of adrenaline and Monster Energy. I was building a castle I’d never walk inside. So I feel DashCon 2 through the contours—the effect it has on other people. Through you.
I am beyond grateful for all of you. Sometimes I rewatch the montage of the ending dance party, with the headbanging Miku circle, and I cry. I’m being serious. The greatest joy of my life is getting to make all of you happy.

The recent hot VS cold polls have made me realise that a lot of people have no idea how to cool down.
As someone from a hot country that's regularly on fire, here's some tips:
WATER IS YOUR FRIEND! WATER! IS! YOUR! FRIEND! You can transfer SO much heat into this bad boy! You cannot cool down without water!
Wrists under the cold tap. Splash your face and the back of your neck. Fan yourself.
In some countries you can buy a little handeld fan with a water sprayer.
Damp tea towel around the neck. Stick an ice pack in there on hotter days.
Half fill a water bottle with water, stick in freezer. If you use a bottle with a straw, make sure it's lying on its side with the straw side up and out of the water. When frozen top up the rest of the way with tap water and off you go.
Desperate to cool off? Wet T-shirt. Sit in front of a fan. This will nuke it, just don't get hypothermia and don't fall asleep like this.
Cold showers are also your friend in summer. Some people get psyched up by these. Personally, I sleep like a baby, so I'm good to have them before bed. Just keep in mind that it takes a bit of time for the cool to circulate, so your body will tell you that you're colder than you actually are. I find that when I have cold showers I need to step out of the spray when I think I'm cold... I'll just wait, and thirty seconds later the temperature has evened out and I actually need to step under again. Rinse and repeat until you maintain coolness even after stepping out for a bit.
If you can't do cold showers, turn the cold shower on anyway and just stick your arms under. When they're cold, lift your arms up above your head. The sensation of cool blood draining into your body is fucking weird and kinda unpleasant but less unpleasant than being hot.
Feet in a tub of water with ice. Blood naturally flows to your extremities when hot, so take advantage of this. If you don't have a tub of ice water, sticking a wet rag on your feet in front of the fan works too, it's the less powerful version of the wet T-shirt.
Drinks lots of water but make sure that water has electrolytes as well. Stay in the shade.
Keep air circulating. Fans don't actually cool rooms down, they just help transfer heat from your body to the moisture on your skin or the air via evaporative cooling.
Block north facing windows early in the morning so the sun doesn't get in. If you're in the northern hemisphere, this is opposite for you. Keep in mind that if your home is brick, the bricks will still heat up and slowly release heat into your home even after the sun goes down so this will only do so much.
If it's hotter inside than outside, close all your windows but two, making sure they're on opposite sides of the house/unit you're in. Point a fan out of one window, making sure that the doors between the rooms with the open windows are all open. This will help create a mini pressure system in your home, pulling cooler air in and pushing the hotter air out via the fan. Bonus points if you can get that fan high up where the hot air rises; even within a single room the top is much hotter than the air by the floor. Adjust the amount of open windows based on how many fans you have, but generally you want more windows with fans open than windows without fans to keep the pressure correct.
Obviously, use your common sense for these. Not everything WILL work for you, just use the stuff that does and adjust what needs to be adjusted. Some of these will be impossible to use in the workplace but others you can still use. Others are best used at home. If humidity impacts your ability to use any of these, get a dehumidifier if that's an option, or use more ice instead of evaporation.
Also keep in mind that the skinnier you are, the faster these will work. More fat means more insulation, means more heat, so you may need to be more patient with some of these or use them in combination.

we've also moved some of our oldest designs to last chance to make room for future updates to our persona and omori collections!
In the last few years, I moved from the southern US to the northern US. People always joke that people in the south can't handle the cold, or that people in the north can't handle the heat, but I would argue that while upbringing affecting preference is a factor, the more important factor is infrastructure. In Texas, we had lighter, draftier houses that breathed. This helps with heat, but in the winter, if it got down around 15⁰ f (like it usually did up to a couple of times a year), the houses couldn't keep up. It was impossible to heat the indoors over 60⁰, even with blasting the heat. Alternatively, buildings up north don't always have air conditioning, so if it gets up over 95⁰ it is really difficult to handle, especially for prolonged stretches. Climate isn't just personal preference. We have architecture from over the past 100 yrs that is adapted to handle the temps it was before global warming. The architecture in Europe is even older. If people say the temp is untenable, believe them.
