One of my favorite things about Blue Beetle was that not only does it completely side step the "I have to keep my identity a secret to protect my loved ones" trope but it just blows it out of the water.
Jaime's family is present when he transforms into Blue Beetle the first time.
His uncle has skills and resources that are integral to the early plot where they break into Kord Industrities and then travel to the Kord Estate. He's part of the Squad.
The whole family, lead by the grandmother, mounts a rescue mission when Jaime is captured.
In the end, Jaime is able to refute the recurring statement that his love for his family makes him weak and it's not just a nice sentiment, it's proven true.
"My love for my family is what makes me strong."
His family's love for him is what saves him.
His father saves him from beyond death. That scene with the candles? I was crying in the theatre. It was beautiful.
So yeah. No more loner superheroes who self isolate because they alone can save the world and having a support system is a liability.
Jaime and the Reyes family said "no, you don't have to do that anymore."

blue beetle (2023) has what i can only describe as sharkboy & lavagirl swag if you’re wondering. it knows perfectly well that the sci-fi visual elements are hard to suspend disbelief on, so it embraces that fact with a rainbow of color gels, pearlescent luster finishes and blue lightning. it’s not “believable” by like, mcu standards, and it’s not trying to be, it embraces camp with open arms and looks so much better than if they’d tried to play it off straight.
for real though, I like to headcanon that Jason swings by the Cave occasionally with the newest, grossest energy drink he can find to try and get Bruce to drink anything other than coffee.
Bruce holds a bubble gum energy drink up to the light, squints at it, and says, with explicit disapproval, “This is going to give you liver failure eventually.” Jason is like “Right, but it makes you go FAST, Bruce.”
most heroes their movie is about deciding that they’re gonna take their new powers and save a bunch of people and that’s why they end up fighting the bad guy to begin with
