barry allen in a relationship headcanons
some headcanons about how i think barry allen would act while dating you xx
he wears a lot of chapstick. his favorite flavors are coca cola, cherry and root-beer
he really likes those shows on HGTV and gordon ramsay shows. he’ll binge house hunters or next level chef with you
he’s actually a good cook. not wonderful, michelin dishes but still good. the dishes he makes always feel like home and warmth
you know those little skateboards meant for fingers? he collects those, thinking they’re super cool. he’s actually quite good at ‘finger-skating’ too
he likes helping you with your hair. if you’ll let him, he’ll brush it out for you, wash it, tie it up, braid it, whatever he is allowed to do with your hair, he will gladly do for you
he has a real problem with snacks, he loves snacking so much. he’ll make popcorn with m&m’s, strawberries and nuts, banana smoothies, watermelons and chips, any good (or even bad) snack combos you can think of, he will gladly try them
he likes putting little notes in your lunch / breakfast. if he has to leave before you wake in the morning, whether if it’s superhero business or science calling, he’ll leave you a note or few around the house, you’ll find one on the mirror, in the kitchen, on the tv, anywhere he thinks you’ll find it
if you have littler siblings or cousins or just little kids that visit you often, he will absolutely stand up to the fun uncle role, even if you aren’t married. he’s good with kids. he listens to them ramble, then he rambles in return. he knows how to keep them busy and occupied for awhile
he loves late night talks. barry could spend the rest of his life just lying down on your bed as you two exchange thoughts, ideas, dreams, jokes. whatever comes to mind. he loves talking to you and telling you about his day
on that note, every dinner he will talk to you about his day in great detail and listen to you talk about yours. he soaks up every word, listening and caring deeply. if he isn’t home for dinner, then you’ll either discuss your days on the couch with the tv drones on, or during breakfast in the morning
he enjoys coffee, but it makes him anxious and jittery. so he drinks tea instead. barry has a cupboard full of tea packs, he’ll make you your favorite whenever you ask or after rough days
he is an amazing listener. sometimes his mind is elsewhere but he tries his best to keep his attention on you. he loves listening to you talk about things you like, about a special interest or interesting facts you learned
barry often has trouble keeping eye contact with people, but with you? he’s always staring. he has a problem. he loves looking into the beautiful color (s) of your eyes. he notices everything in them. the specks of darker color, the mix of shades, everything
he loves holding you or being held as you fall asleep, he’ll rest one of his arms over your waist and his head on your shoulder. he snores lightly, too
he also loves to read or watch tv before bed, in bed with you. he’ll read to you, listen to you read, or both read separately. he just likes the comfort and stillness being with you brings
if you ever ask him a question he doesn’t have an answer too, he will hunt it down until he finds an answer. he will look online, through books at the library, even ask friends or fellow superheroes. he wants to seem smart and helpful to you
he loves to have you run your fingers through his hair. it soothes him after tiring and hard days when he can’t quite relax
