also as the resident viserys understander i do not think rhaella being abusive is as much of a character assassination as people are making it out to be. it’s not exactly a great leap seeing as viserys’ entire ‘wake the dragon’ thing comes from her. not to mention it does make rhaella entirely more interesting and i think fandom interpretations of her tend to fall into a perfect victim narrative. rhaella CAN hate her kids she was forced to have actually! and that makes her more compelling
