Last night I got an angry message on my Tumblr from a user asking why I was flaming their story on AO3.

I never leave negative comments (and I've left over 500 positive ones!). I looked into it, and the hatebots on AO3 used my username with (Guest) at the end to send one of the most vile messages I've ever read to a user in a completely different fandom from me.

I straightened it out with that user and explained about the hatebots. But their initial message to me was angry, they'd found me off AO3 on Tumblr and called out personal details from my page because they thought I was bullying them.

I still can't really fathom why these hatebots do what they do, but I'm also a little scared that a misunderstanding like that could lead to someone getting doxxed. And I'm also extremely sad that this bot is posing as me and threatening other users. I encouraged the one reaching out to me to report and block and made a note on my page explaining that (Guest) comments are not from me in case anyone else had that experience.

I still love AO3 for the ability to write and share and connect over our stories and fandoms, but this is really discouraging and scary, in addition to the almost daily art bot scams I get on AO3 too.

And my heart breaks for the user who thought even for a moment that a complete stranger would say such awful things to them using my name.

And it's devastating to think of so many writers waiting for feedback on a story they worked so hard on who are getting hateful comments like these. Or to think someone could internalize those hateful comments without knowing it's a bot.

My heart breaks especially for newer writers on AO3, it's definitely a different landscape from when I joined two years ago.

As a kid who grew up watching Terminator - I'm not sure I envisioned the robot wars looking quite like this!!

My fast and loose idea would be like. TLJ was kind of a slut before trying to lock it down with SYX. Did it with some demon and produced a little half demon/half Heavenly baby who maybe grew a little before dying or something. My HC is that it's super hard for non-full blooded Heavenly Demons to be born at all so ZZL and LBH even making it out the womb was a miracle, let alone to adulthood.

So SY's og body had outright died when he was super young. But then some artifact shenanigans happens and like activates the dormant blood parasites still lingering in his bones and revives him. SY wakes up in a like 7 y/o half Heavenly Demon/half ??? And flips. After he realizes where he is he goes to track down Binghe.

Washerwoman now has TWO sons, and Binghe is like 4 to SY's 7. So he can be Xiao-he cause I saw red-garden call him that in some art a little bit ago and it was cute af. Sadly tho the WW still dies even with SY trying to use his modern man knowledge to help. So they both still head towards CQMS. Possibly because of a System? Undecided.

When they arrive SY knows there is no fucking way he can be on the mountain. LBH has his cradle seal intact but SY is like Just A Demon and hiding it, plus he is "too old" at like 15 to Cultivate. So he sends LBH up the mountain and stays in the town below as hidden as possible. Probably doing like odd jobs for people or maybe even using his modern day skills with reading and maths to get a job idk yet.

I DO think that SY being around, even if not on the mountain, would help LBH's situation even a tiny bit. SQQ would know that SOMEONE is looking out for LBH so the kid isn't completely isolated and dependent on him. I also think that SY would NOT let his cute and adorable didi allow himself to be pushed around and bullied.

Like one day LBH gets to visit and he is all bruised up and has teary eyes and SY asks what happened. And when LBH says that he is just foolish and didn't understand lessons SY is like !!! And as he is cleaning him up is all like "didi isn't stupid and if they do that again punch them in the nuts!". And LBH is all "but Shizsun said-" and SY interrupts him with a "You 'Shizun' can eat my ass" or something. So LBH is still probably bullied somewhat but he actually defends himself so he's not as valuable of a target. Also low key SY is probably using some of his demon powers on the sly to terrorize LBH's bullies.

Also also also the idea of SY somehow coming into contact with SQQ and doing the equivalent of Rock Lee throwing off his leg weights to out-bitch this man as he channels the spirit of 10000 Angry PTA Mom Karen. Is so funny to me. 14 Y/O Binghe hiding behind SY as like 17 Y/O SY has hands on his hips, finger wagging, going "and ANOTHER THING" at this grown ass man. Who can't even retaliate directly since he thinks that SY is a regular mortal at this point.
